Auran Closes Up Shop

Kotaku Australia is reporting that Auran, the developer of the MMO Fury, has today closed its doors. From the story:

"Just spoke to some ex-colleagues of mine from Auran. Auran Developments (who hires the dev team) has just gone into liquidation and has shut up shop. The guys don’t get paid this week, they don’t get their holidays paid out, and they don’t get redundancy packages."

Wow, this SUCKS for those guys. If things where this bad the company should have spoke up ahead of time. Having played fury though... I can't really be that surprised.

My best wishes out to all the devs though. Thats tough.

This information is entirely incorrect. I suggest you check your data with Auran, or even read around their official Fury forums a bit to find out what is actually happening.

As a brief summary, they are cutting down their development team size significantly so they can break even in cashflow. The people they are keeping are the ones who actually care about the game. There is also numerous large updates and an updated business model for the 14th of december.

This is tragic but I got numerous messages on MSN basically saying "told ya so!"

Yeah this is a simple downsizing of the team. You can read more about it here.
