Blizzard Entertainment

The Countdown Begins

The Blizzard website's starting page has been changed to a splash image showing each game they've released in the past. There's also a timeline at the bottom which lists each of the games, including a question mark for the game being announced at the Worldwide Invitationals less than a week away.

Each day the splash page is going to be changed, until the big day that the new game is announced on the 19th of May. Make sure to keep an eye on the website for other possible hints!

Blizzard PLEASE do Diablo 3 !!! PLEASE. Or new MMO based on diablo world.

Well technically StarCraft Ghost is 'indefinately on hold', not scrubbed. Presumably this is because Blizzard can't move fast enough to write it for a specific platform(s). I mean, if they started porting it to PS3 now, the PS4 would be out before they were finished!

How do you guys know it won't be an entirely new IP? You guys are treating them like one-trick ponies. They can do whatever they goddamn please, including an entirely new game.

    Because what they have works.

So long as the genres keep delivering, why invest on something that won't/might not be as big?

Well if they weren't such money whores they wouldn't follow the old genres. They are getting a shitload of money from WoW, why not invest it in something new and innovative ? Its because they are becoming like EA. And alot of the good devs have left (formed ArenaNet and Flagship Studios), but it doesn't stop them from ruining games like Starcraft or Diablo by making them WoW-like MMOs! And why didn't they mention the old Viking game, its the best. I hope its a Starcraft RTS, but according to this unofficial thingie its probably not: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=163207&site=cvg&skip=yes

Although I enjoy WoW alot I have to admit a part of me is secretly hoping for a new Warcraft RTS. I know this will be very unlikely because it will heavily limit the ways WoW can end up Lore wise, but still...

I put my bets on StarCraft, although that's just a rough guess.

WoW won't have an ending :P MMOs usually don't, and the way WoW is heading (copying other MMOs) I doubt they'll try to *** up the lore anymore they did

Going by the fact that Starcraft has never had a sequel (Brood War was just an expansion), my money's on Starcraft 2.

The place that they decided to announce it also makes Starcraft 2 a likely choice.

Oh, and it's probably not going to be another WoW. From a business standpoint, another MMORPG would be pointless in their current situation.
