Regional Finals: Day Two Coverage - Update #3

We're kicking off day two of the Regional Finals as I type this with the World of Warcraft Lower Bracket Finals between Pandemic and TFO. I'll be updating real-time as the matches occur.

Lower Bracket Finals
Team Wins
Pandemic 0
TFO 3

Game one: Blade's Edge Arena
Ecilam died very early on, followed by Nitrana and the match ended fairly swiftly, putting TFO up 1-0.

Game two: Blade's Edge Arena
Game two lasted a bit longer, but Ecilam was once again the first target. After switching between Ecilam and Reznap for a bit, Ecilam dropped and then Reznap followed shortly after. Game two goes to TFO, putting them up 2-0.

Game three: Nagrand Arena
Game three saw a switch in arenas and Noktyn was the first target. TFO then switched over to Ecilam and killed him off quickly. Reznap was the second death and the match ended shortly after, with TFO taking the game and the match, 3-0.

TFO moves on to the Championship Finals to play Flow Gaming after the Warcraft III Championship Finals.

WC3 Championship Finals
Player Wins
mTw.nilk 2
mTw-KiWi 0

Game one
KiWi and nilk decided to play the finals on Random race. In game one, Kiwi ended up with Night Elves while nilk was Scourge. nilk's first hero was a Deathknight and Kiwi an Alchemist; nilk opened up the game with a Ghoul rush. The Ghoul rush failed and nilk also lost his Deathknight hero due to lack of a Town Portal scroll. nilk sent in another wave of ghouls pretty quickly and sent Kiwi scrambling. Kiwi lost several buildings but was able to hold the rush off. The match went on a bit longer, but nilk was able to pull off a win despite losing his Deathknight hero multiple times, going up 1-0.

Game two
Yet again a random game, but both players drew the same races - Kiwi being Night Elves, nilk Scourge. Kiwi opened up with a Demon Hunter, and nilk selected Deathknight first. Both players spent quite a while creeping to level up their heroes. Kiwi attempted several expansions but nilk thwarted him each time. nilk sent in a massive wave of Frost Wyrms and Kiwi attempted to cut him off with the Demon Hunter, but it wasn't enough. Kiwi gave up and nilk wins the game and the match, 2-0 to take first place in the WC3 America Regional Finals.

WoW Championship Finals
Team Wins
Flow Gaming 3
TFO 1

Game one: Blade's Edge Arena
The game started off with a lot of crowd control, but the game ended extremely fast with Flow Gaming shutting TFO down and winning unscathed, to go up 1-0.

Game two: Ruins of Lordaeran Arena
TFO modified their strategy a bit to take advantage of the new arena. Tiz was the main target of TFO from the get-go, and they wore down Flow Gaming's mana trying to keep Tiz up. Tiz eventually died, but TFO also lost a member to bring the game to 4vs4. Flow Gaming takes down TFO member Benevolent to take the advantage 4vs3, but Flow's Nuvas is under heavy assault as well. However, Lucilius from TFO was taken down to make it 4vs2 and Nuvas dropped almost immediately after, making it 3vs2 in favor of Flow Gaming. From there it ended fairly quickly with Flow Gaming going up 2-0.

Game three: Blade's Edge Arena
Both teams came out with an offensive mindset, charging at each other immediately. Benevolent locked Spinister down with Polymorph from the start and Tiz was once again the first target. Benevolent did an excellent job keeping Spinister locked down and Tiz died first. Koorban was the next target and he fell fast to give TFO a 5vs3 advantage. Nuvas dropped next and it was only a matter of time before TFO finished Flow Gaming off, to take game three; Flow is now up 2-1.

Game four: Nagrand Arena
Game four saw the first trip to Nagrand Arena - the third and final arena - for the first time in the match. Tiz's felguard - a popular subject for the commentators - was TFO's first target; TFO switched over to Tiz and poured heavy damage onto him. TFO's mage Benevolent was the primary target for Flow Gaming. Tiz is the first death of the match, but Benevolent dies at the same time to make it a 4vs4 match. Flow Gaming holds out to take the match with 3 members standing, and to win the Regional Championship - 3-1.
