Starcraft remain the best RTS ever made so far.

Is anyone else really dissapointed in the Cancellation of Ghost? I was really looking forward to seeing what Blizz did with the FPS genre. I mean, we know they can do RTS and RPG already. It's time to tread some uncharted territory I think.

I was there he said that it would be a shame if there was not a new one in a decade since the first one, so hopefully this year.

Awesome. Starcraft still has plot left in it too (unlike Diablo).

I don't reckon it'll be an MMO. Blizz would be competeing with itself. I don't think the market needs a new MMO right now (although it is lacking a decent Sci-Fi example of the genre).

My guess is that it'll be a new RTS with an updated Warcraft 3 engine.

[quote] We're sorry, but that page doesn't exist any more! It may have moved, been removed or may just never have existed in the first place. I don't suppose being told that really helps you much; why don't you try searching? /quote

Didn't you hear that Diablo 3 will be the MMO.. I'm sure SC2 will just be an RTS.

my heart lays with WarCraft 3. even the game play in that game really opened a revolution. But I am curious how will StarCraft be continued. knowing blizz, they prolly invent something else too for that one.

I was watching the Burning Crusade Collector's Edition Behind the Scenes DVD, and there was two videos of StarCraft Ghost on it. One was the introduction trailer, the other was a game play trailer. Both were amazing. But why would they put them on there if only to tease us? I think maybe they told people they canceled ghost, just to make us want it more. It looks awesome, I hope they do release it eventually.

I think blizz could combine both the WoW and Starcraft universes by simply stating that "The Creators" in WoW are the Xel'Naga from Starcraft. Then have marines, zerg and protoss land in azeroth.

That or add another portal to the Starcraft world.... Come to think of it, that would be too messed up. But you have to agree the Xel'Naga do sound like the same folk as "The Creators".

Well, the end of Brood Wars did leave us hanging a little bit. . .

world of warcraft is completely different then starcraft. close names, but two complete different games. sure, the first couple were allot like starcraft, but WORLD OF WARCRAFT is completely different. putting starcraft with world of warcraft would have a clash of technoligy. i enjoyed the starcraft games. but combining starcraft with WoW just wont work. starcraft has to much high end teck. that WoW has no way of dealing with. to combine them. they would have to change every class. every talent. every weapon. bases. what armor looked like. what weapons looked like. how the game is played, they might aswell just make a bran new game. with a different name that has things from world of warcraft, and starcraft. but that game would be enteresting. (( oh ya. i dont care if i spell bad :P ))

If they did make a Starcraft 2 they would have to be very careful. Starcraft was such a good game but it was also fragile. One wrong move and the whole game will suck. Some would agree this happened with Halo and Halo 2 SOME (dont pm me with hatemail for saying that) I supose another example would be James Bond Golden Eye on N64 then the next Janes Bond game. Which was not nearly as good in some poeples opinion. Another thing they would have to keep the free online :) one of the reasons i love SC so much is because of that fact. Im sure it will happen eventully lol no matter what we say.

this would be amazing...SC has to be my fav from Blizzard

Well I never really liked Starcraft that much; it's really just Warcraft for people obsessed with space themed movies and games. It's the exact same structure of how you need certain units and building to make other units and buildings, but in a space theme! Woopdy friggin do! Starcraft is just for the Star Wars and Star Trek uber fans that refuse to play medieval based games, thinking that the space age version is any better. Given that I played Warcraft first and loved it, I didn't see any reason to pay the same amount of money for the exact same game with different looks. Notice how Blizzard's Warcraft has been far more popular than their Starcraft. In the end it doesn't matter which one you like, but I've heard people making it seem as if Starcraft is so much better than the already existant Warcraft. I've also heard people whining that Starcraft has been neglected by Blizzard. Well, here's some cheese; besides, Starcraft only appeals to a small group of people. So if you think logically, why pour money into a project that isn't as popular as your previous one? They're in business to make money, not make every customer 100% happy - but that is definitely very important to them as well. Now with the great success of World of Warcraft and Blizzard's continual sell-out, they can afford to market a new Starcraft.

first off, starcraft was a success mainly because of the many options that could be done with map editing.there was also the incredible balance between races that was good. a new starcraft would have to have both for it to be any good.

also, if i remember correctly, blizzard originally thought of world of starcraft first, but then scrapped it for WoW.

heh imaging a world of starcraft rpg ... sounds nice and more millions to Blizzard, just a thought
