well activition and blizzard as such are really great developers... still, i have a strange feeling about this.

Well, Vivendi bought stake into Activision.. so to have it easier to handle, they put all their gaming resources under one name, instead of having two seperate entities.

Right now, there is no bad thing to have happened from this, other than most people thinking that Blizzard should have spun off as it's own property without any handlers. When Blizzard starts releasing games that are of lower quality, you'll be rest assured that it will be the downturn for their games.

I think the primary reason for doing this is to turn Blizzard into more of a "public" company while also acquiring stake in one of the largest video game publishers in the world. There's a reason top Vivendi brass commented on this bringing out the true value of Blizzard. :)
