I've been watching this game for a few weeks and am quite interested. Although I am a bit fuzzy on whats going on with the realease date and its distribution. Definatly worth a shot, hopefully will get online in the next few days and have a look for myself. Anyone else in Aus looking at this game? any information on its oceanic release? Currently playing WAR and its begining to feel dead, hopefully Aion will attract enough people to liven up the stale mmo scene.

Yes, they'll have down-times. No, they didn't guarantee that you'd be able to play at any time you choose. No, there's nothing the CM's can do about it. Yes, that's true no matter how upset you are.

Add to that the fact that the servers were down at the times you mention in order to fix the "instance" issues that have been a real problem for players, and your complaint seems even more pointless.

Your mis-characterizations of Orlyia just make you look like a petulant child. I'm not one to blindly support the Blue posters, in fact I've received a forum "vacation" for criticizing them before, but I've never seen Orlyia post anything that wasn't professional.

There is a lot I do not understand about WOW but I would think that they are advanced enough to be able to choose a more appropriate time to have downtime. WHY NOT?

Cause I still want to play an MMO until Aion is going. As fate would have it, my account with WoW ends the same day as the headstart begins.

As I explained later, I've worked as a CSR. I see this as the equivalent of hanging up on a customer complaint just so they wouldn't have to deal with it. This and the "just because you pay doesn't mean we have to give you anything" attitude were the only real issues I had. I could care less about the extended downtime. Unlike most other players, I don't revolve my life around the game, it's quit the opposite.

I would agree with the CSR. There is nothing "he" can do personally outside of relaying the facts, and the fact is, when you support a multi-thousand server infrastructure, you need downtime. It has been like this for 4.5 years and is accepted by 99% of the subscribers.

As far as extended downtime, sh*t happens.

If you you are seriously counting the days until your account expires, why prolong the agony? Just quit.

If you order the CE pre-order you just get the in-game stuff without all the useless crap. That's the route I went.

Oh? And from your "expansive" experience what will come in second be then? AoC? EVE? WAR? Please, enlighten the rest of us?

Sarcasm aside, unfortunately it's impossible for NOTHING to come second. Just because it's "Japanese style" means it's automatically bad? I didn't find the gameplay any different than WoW's.

1) Grab quest

2) Go kill/collect/farm for quest

3) Turn in quest

4) Lather

5) Rinse

6) Repeat

When the instances are implemented, I'm sure they'll run the same as well.

1) Enter instance

2) Clear trash

3) Kill boss

4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you reach final boss

5) Kill final boss

6) Reset and run again til you get all the loot you want

But once again, people are making comparisons too soon. So I'll repeat this, yet again, for those who haven't read it before:

"Any comparison between [insert any "new" MMO here] and WoW at this time is null and void. Take a snapshot of WoW at it's current stage, wait the same amount of feedback/dev time to pass for said MMO, THEN make a side by side comparison. WoW has a 5 year head start (4 if you count the release in the East). Give these pointless, never accurate side-by-sides a rest. It's like making a comparison between an apple in the produce isle to and an orange seed that you just planted in the back yard."

Fair warning at this point, and this isn't directed at you Kante, but if anyone feels the need to start adding your WoW/Aion fanboi crap to my blog I'll be deleting it. I have no issues with arguments with some point/structure to it, but I will not be tolerating any "AION/WOW SUX0RZ CAUSE AION/WOW IS UBER LEET!" Go find somewhere else to do that ****.

Aion will never be the second most successful MMO next to WoW.

NCSoft is Producing Japanese style MMORPG's, and i don't know why but every other MMORPG i played (and believe in me i tested very much) can't reach the Roaming like WoW.

No problem, Im definetly getting into this game aswell. Pre ordered it (Didn't go for pre order because A) Why would I want a figurine of a game character that iv never played B) It wasn't worth the 120$ bucks EB was asking for).

I didn't get to the stigma system as I was just testing classes out to find which one I liked. I don't want to "review" something that I personally haven't touched.
