Curse

What is Curse?

During the weekend, there have been countless "protest", "demonstration" and "rebel" news posts popping up on Curse by various users. Mostly because they are unhappy with Blizzard's handling of their class or some other minor issue. There even was a news post demanding certain Blizzard developer's resignation.

This is where the line goes.

Curse is a place where users may find news, or submit news of relevance to the community. Curse is a place where users may submit and share add-ons freely with the community. Curse is a place where users may host and share screenshots freely with the world. Curse is a website that users can use to find guides and strategies for their games.

Curse is a lot of things, but one thing it is not is some person's blog where you may complain, whine and encourage virtual "riots" attempting to crash the servers either by overpopulation or other means.

Enough is enough.

While I have deleted numerous news posts, I am taking this opportunity to give a general warning out to everyone. Any more posts of the sorts will result in a ban from the website, and while you may think "ok then I will just create a new account" we have means to counter this.

Look, this is a post we should not have to be making. If you feel you got so shafted by whatever decicion that was made by the game developers, write a constructive well thought out feedback email to them. Rallying people demanding resignations over, pardon my french, butthurt feelings due to a class re-tuning will not accomplish anything.

Bottom line: Use common sense and be a solution, not a problem.

Best news i've seen in here in a week. My problem is that Curse is a place where you can post news about the games, not be a place to create news, which is what was happening.

If you have an issue with the game, report it to Blizzard. Come up with a possible solution and stop being part of the problem. After all, crashing servers isn't helping anybody and only interrupting the game for others.

If you have time to creat a post complaining about a certain change or feature, you have more than enough time to write an email, post in the Suggestions Forums at WoW, or write the devs a letter outlining the issues, consequences and possible fixes.

    Thanks for posting this.

I know over the weekend, with people linking to the 'news' stories here with the childish rants and demands, it reflected pretty poorly on the site to have garbage like that on the front page.

Thanks for cleaning it up, though. You guys have a decent site here, and it's good to see you taking care of the children by removing them.

This is great to see. I was sitting here all weekend seeing these posts and being powerless to do anything about them. My main is a 70 Bear Druid and though unhappy with the impending Nerf, it is uncalled for to flood reputable news sites with your own personal vendettas against Blizzard and the Developers.

Were it not for this post, this was likely to be my final visit here.

I'm glad to see someone is taking control and quelling the nonsense.

Signed, quoted and bumped for justice. The situation was really getting out of hand. People should realize that it's rather easy to whine over a "nerf" and just blame everyone and everything. The hard part is, offer constructive criticism and suggest alternatives to the issue. Blizzard isn't just a company thats going to be intimidated by threats and virtual demonstrations, lets be honest here. Most, if not all classes have seen nerfs and its possible that they are going to see more or less of them in the future.

It's an individual attitude thing. You don't like where a game is headed, you have the choice not to play it anymore. Just don't expect that other people will necessarily follow your logic. Trying to drag them down to your level of thinking is equally bad. Common sense is the way to go.

And for what is worth this is coming from a Druid. Peace out.
