Curse

What is Curse?

During the weekend, there have been countless "protest", "demonstration" and "rebel" news posts popping up on Curse by various users. Mostly because they are unhappy with Blizzard's handling of their class or some other minor issue. There even was a news post demanding certain Blizzard developer's resignation.

This is where the line goes.

Curse is a place where users may find news, or submit news of relevance to the community. Curse is a place where users may submit and share add-ons freely with the community. Curse is a place where users may host and share screenshots freely with the world. Curse is a website that users can use to find guides and strategies for their games.

Curse is a lot of things, but one thing it is not is some person's blog where you may complain, whine and encourage virtual "riots" attempting to crash the servers either by overpopulation or other means.

Enough is enough.

While I have deleted numerous news posts, I am taking this opportunity to give a general warning out to everyone. Any more posts of the sorts will result in a ban from the website, and while you may think "ok then I will just create a new account" we have means to counter this.

Look, this is a post we should not have to be making. If you feel you got so shafted by whatever decicion that was made by the game developers, write a constructive well thought out feedback email to them. Rallying people demanding resignations over, pardon my french, butthurt feelings due to a class re-tuning will not accomplish anything.

Bottom line: Use common sense and be a solution, not a problem.

Well, I was about to type this myself in a lower level of control, certainly not a news item.

Though curse allows people to post news and such, most dont want to see your garbage here "omg priest rebellion, omg druid rebellion."

You have your own CLASS forums on the official WoW community where you can cry all day long about your precious nerfs and useless abilities, dont bring it to a popular add-on site.

It's like discussing politics during raids, no one wins.

Well said. I have to admit I was worried about the integrity of curse these last couple days (I didn't realize those news items were user submitted) and I applaud your good sense to put these juvenile whiners back in their place and keep your site the clean and excellent source of information and downloads that I have always known it to be.

    Well done, curse.

I would further enjoy it if we didn't see anymore of the "X guild has dropped X boss" in the news too. It's only news to that guild, and has very little bearing on the game in my opinion.

I have to disagree with this, seeing it is in fact news to the entire PvE scene that a new, previously undefeated boss has been slain by a guild. Bear in mind that as far as I have seen, it has only been the world first or European first kills that has been posted about, apart from Curse guild's own kills.

Nneejjii: We wern't talking about Loethaeb being killed. All that is real news and won't be deleted. The problem was the posts calling for the termination of devs among other things.

Thats what the real problem is for the Druid community I suppose. Through out this entire process of the nerf, no matter how many constructive ideas were put out, or where they were posted, the community has only recieved an outline of what the nerf would entail and blizzards assurance that it won't hurt Druid tanking abilities "too much." The very fact that Blizzard has not in any way addressed many of its flawed devolopment issues might be newsworthy in and of itself.

Again, to reiterate, a class whining after they received a nerf is not new, therefore this is not news.

And it certainly isn't news worthy in any case. Take it up with Blizzard, please don't clutter up the news section.

Not that I mind reading the Warcraft drama from time to time, but is there a reason this news is in "Vanguard › News & Articles › Other › What is Curse? "?

For a second I missed the Blizzard part and thought someone was asking a Vanguard dev to resign when the game changes have been pretty good lately :)

Well it's listed under general Curse, as this is related to anyone who wants to whine about things using our news system :)

honestly, since i'm not any kind of public person here's my opinnion : - to the whiners : cry more - to Curse : keep this community website under control as it is so far the best location for many of us normal ppl to get information. Thanks!
