Update on Curse Website Issues

As I'm sure you've noticed, the Curse website has had some issues today due to increased traffic. We experienced close to ten times our normal traffic due to today's World of Warcraft patch, which was unfortunately more than expected, so we had to take the site down for maintenance this evening to work on balancing today's increased load.

The good news is we've made great progress and want to thank everyone for hanging in there - the wait will be well worth it. We have some great new content coming down the pipeline, including an incredibly cool portal designed specifically for World of Warcraft's patch 2.2.0 and we're working out the final touches on the portal now.

Some things you can look forward to on the portal:

- Contests brought to you by Dell and AMD.
- Download lists filtered and only showing AddOns updated for 2.2.0.
- More AddOn Author Interviews like we released this afternoon.
- Recommended UI's and VIP User Interfaces - AddOns suggested by the community!
- Staff Favorite AddOns.
- And more!

We'll be sure to make an announcement as soon as the portal is live, so keep checking back!

    this web sux more and more get the old style back u dont have to puch 4 times to download a damn sigle addon

    Good to hear, I assumed the traffic was going crazy specially because this patch.

    Sweet, that sounds like some cool stuff. Definitely happy about the 2.2 addon filter. I'm also interested in the contests. Maybe I'll score something cool out of the deal.

    I'm still having an issue that the page http://wow.curse.com/ won't load until i refresh it like 5-10 times. Only an upper splash screen appears and a link "Continue to Curse" that doesn't help in loading the site either. I'm using Opera 9.23.

    Don't you guys plan ahead at all? I mean every time there is a patch you get increased traffic right? So wouldn't it make sense to prepare in advance?
