We're now up to version 0.12.5. It is one of those early adopter releases and mainly features small bug fixes. The client itself has the ability to auto update itself but I'm a firm believer

New Version of the Curse Client

The way you do releases is perfect. Essentially to make the application do an update search at that time for all the managed addons. I've ran into the issue before where the update popup will display but then close out after so long. Then there really isn't any way to see what the message said...if it was for an addon or just a news blurb. Either an update option or an event log to keep track of all the popup messages received that can be looked over. Throw that in and the app will be perfect.

New Version of the Curse Client

Addon update messages stay for a very very long time.. I think it's 10 hours by default.
But one of the main features of their client (wowaceupdater) that I Really like, is that it's a one button update process that grabs All of the latest updates in one go.

With your current client, I have to go to each individual page and manually click on a button to download the one mod, then have to go to the next mod page, etc..

The other option is the 'Run Executables' is On by default in your settings. I really think this needs to be defaulted to Off, or at least ask for confirmation before doing so, since .exe are a prime method of keylogger issues.

New Version of the Curse Client

It currently won't run them at all but once it gets implemented it will prompt you. If you turn it off it will just install it and ignore it. Leaving it up to you what you want to do with it.

New Version of the Curse Client

Definately the best way to publish updates. If you force an auto-update on people but something's borked then you end up with a lot of people with bust clients that might not be able to auto-update to a fixed release, forcing them all back to the site to update. Keep up the great work asp (and co) - it's working a treat so far :)

I think so far as suggestions go I can only reiterate what others have said. An option to force a search on all addons to be certain there's no updates would be nice. I'm assuming atm it just pings now and then to check for updates? If we know one's out (say, from a message in guild) it'd be great to just hit a button to save digging it up on the site again.

Some way to auto-update without having to visit the page directly would be a huge boost too. Can we have a seperate button on the "Addon X has been updated" window that just heads straight for the psyn? One better would of course be an "update all" button/link someplace.

Only other thing that springs to mind would be some more filtering in there. I don't necessarily want to see news posts about a game that I never have or never will play. To be able to filter it out a bit to just the stuff that interests me would be a huge boost.

Once again, keep up the great work. I'm sure we're all thankful for the effort you put in even though you won't be told that often enough :)

New Version of the Curse Client

Filtering is actually already in there. It just isn't being respected by the website. We got pretty heavily overwhelmed by the number of requests we got and it was decided that we would switch over to a non- user-specific feed until we have a more efficient way of generating feeds for all users. It's something we will be enabling again in the future.

New Version of the Curse Client

OMG this downloaded automatically and the sound stopped working in WoW - It works on the rest of my system and in all other programs but this update totally stopped the sound in WoW.
