Trying to force a change no one wants, as noble as it is, will only cause people to not want to switch. I have 140+ addons that have to be updated regularly. I dislike the fact that I have to use TWO addon management programs just because you think your idea is noble and it should be forced.

Like others, I want WM back in full swing.

I found that is much more user friendly & has much better addons available. With the advent of the last major patch in WOW, now I have some addons that wont work. But thats ok, Ive learned to live without them. I will not use Curse.Com. Im sure in time, the gurus of WM will solve the problem. I'll wait for that.

One prime example, is the Auctionator in WM. Very good.

Auctioneer is a full package with a lot of sub mods. I would suspect most of the ones you can't find are the same. Most, not all, since a few won't be hosted on Curse to start with.

The problem you have is that WM changes the file structure in a manner that doesn't match the way the author packaged the mod, so CC can't give you a suggestion for it.

Tired of complaining about how un-business like and unprofessional Curse is.

Tired of trying to reading how so many of use share the same issue - namely that nerfing a good add-on manager on the guise of "protecting add-on developers" simply doesn't make sense (whether the developer wants the add-on to be free or hopes to get some donations - he/she would want as many people using it as possible, as well as links to donation: which is what WoWMatrix offers).

I think it is time for us, the users to fight back where it hurts: the pocket.

So, from now on, I will only use add-ons that are hosted on WowMatrix. And encourage everyone as pissed off as myself to do so.

Cheers,

At most it should take you maybe 5-10 minutes to correct all of them once, then curse will know what to do with them (as long as you don't open WM for it to screw them up again).

Blizzard may just end it by specifically stating that distribution sites can not charge either, which really is the only fair thing. If the Authors are not allowed to do it, why shoulder a distribution site be allowed make money off of the Authors work? And Curse is touting how they are "protecting" the Authors. All Curse is trying to protect is a way to charge users money."

@doncorneo: I suspect that since Blizzard's announcement/policy change concerning commercial addons has resulted in the loss of revenue for addon developers Blizzard will create their own repository where addon developers can upload their warez. It only makes since. Blizzard eliminates the commercialization of addons and thus absorbs the cost of distribution. This could make CC and WM obsolete if addons are updated through the WoW program itself.
