i only hope that this game shall actually bring to the table the things that i want in a mmorpg: something along the lines of WoW. i have tried fiesta online and runes of magic, both were disappointing to me. i love final fantasy games i never did try final fantasy XI but i am very open to what this trailer has shown so far
looks all right i suppose, although there is already WoW, this will have to be the very best if they hope to compete
Competition is the name of the game. Competition also brings out the best in all commercial parties involved. I'm a WoW fan & addict, but this trailer makes me wanna know more about FF, & download a trial to see how the game environment is. I'm all for trying any other MMO, so I will readily "jump the gun" to try something new. Retarded? Hardly. LOTRO has plenty of players. Tried that one too. It's a fun MMO, however, I will not pay subscriptions for two MMO's. That's where the free month trial comes in when you buy the game in-store!
Kevinsilhouette,
What's retarded is your comment, so no gaming company should challenge Blizzard because it is automatically assumed that that company will not have a chance. Innovation is pushed by companies trying to drop the No.1 off the their mantle and that's good for the all types of players.
People do not stay with a game because it is breaking sales records, there stay because the other games, do not show vast improvement in enjoyability over WoW. Blizzard have been very good at holding their client base because of the expansions released.
Once a game is released that shows a vast improvement in WoW, and has great game play content believe me the GIANT will fall.
Looks retarded they are trying to market in a place thats dominated by blizzard. Sure this game may have success but i have played lot's of games i find have potential To grow vastly into what Blizzard has created. The problem is people who play Blizzards MMO will not just jump guns so fast. Ive played many MMO games to me have more potential than wow like LOTRO but lack the players to make it a game that will expand into a giant. To me i dont think people are willing to just walk away from wow so when they still are breaking record amounts of sales.
Loved FFXI and from what it said in a Q&A session this is going to be a streamlined version. I'm With Kravyn. WoW lost my cash a while ago.
As far as looking stupid because of a launch before 13, LOL actually. I am less and less drawn in to XIII as I see more of it. The news of a turncoat tactic like putting it on Xbox 360 made it passable on all counts. I might just rent it if it ever does come out.
its not sure yet if they really are goin to release it in 2010, because if you think a lil bit Final Fantasy 13 and Final Fantasy Versus 13 hasnt been released yet and it would look stupid if FF14 Online releases before 13.
Kravyn: Check out the additional details from today's Q&A; I think you'll be happy with what's mentioned - www.curse.com/.../491204.aspx :)
If it doesnt cater to the immature and obvious underage tykes that plague World of Warcraft, I will play it in a hearbeat. And if the game mechanics allow solo play and "promote" group play as blizzard claims wow does but actually tries to force grouping, I will drop wow like a hot potatoe
y
