The report over the weekend by Ten Ton Hammer that suggested Funcom cut 70% of its U.S. workforce is apparently true. Funcom confirmed via email that they have made "mass layoffs" in their U.S. division.
"We did have some staffing cuts at Funcom this week as well as new
positions opening in the organization as part of our ongoing cost based
efficiency and performance initiatives that are vital to any business," Funcom said in their official response to the rumors.
The jobs comprised primarily of Customer Service and Quality Assurance
departments, and is likely due to the weak performance of Age of Conan.
