In an article released today on the Guild Wars website, there's an announcement about 1v1(1 player, 3 heroes vs 1 player, 3 heroes) being included in future Competitive Tournaments.

Everything offered for GvG is included in the 1v1 ladder, including all of the 1v1 rated and unrated free games, as well as automated 1v1 tournaments for prizes.

A player's performance will be tracked and made public based on the name of a character associated with the account - rather than the guild name used for GvG - so before you'll be able to compete you'll need to register with a Tournament NPC.

This is all leading to the May Guild Wars $100,000 tournament, where players will be able to compete in a 1v1 ladder.
