My hooves clack on the cobbles of downtown Stormwind, echoing noisily in contrast to the fleshy, booted feet of the humans, dwarves, gnomes, and night elves around me. I draw some stares, but not many: my race must be becoming more common on this continent.
Hungry, my search for something to dine on leads me into Old Town. Old Town is well taken care of, and not run down, like the name might imply. I find a handy pub, go in and take a seat. After ordering some of the tastier-looking (but still entirely unfamiliar to me) morsels from their menu, I pull out a piece of parchment that was once possessed by an engineer in The Deadmines. A goblin, I think: a peculiar race, they appear to be some form of evolutionary predecessor to the Orcs from my race's home world. A curious coincidence, indeed. All my paper and writing implements had been destroyed in the ship's tumultuous entry into Azeroth's atmosphere and subsequent rough landing, so I ask the human man who delivers my food if he has anything that I can use to write. He answers by handing me a pen. I thank him, and he smiles at me, saying something to the effect of "I dabble in engineering when I'm not bringing tired-looking Dranei meals...I have a ton of those things laying around. Keep it." I thank him again, and begin this journal (short for Journey Album, as my old companion Naarua once told me. Noone I've talked to since we arrived has heard anything from or about her so, with heavy heart, we've been forced to declare her "assumed dead"...a shame, as I would've relished the sage paladin's company.) Having fought a heavy fight in Stormwind's name just this afternoon, the admittedly tasty food (a "Lion Steak"was the entree...I can't wait to meet and butcher these tasty animals) begins to set in my stomach, and I'm forced to ask the bartender for directions to an Inn where I can get a room for the night. I travel to the Trade Quarter, and find one right by the bank. Handy. I secure a room for the night, and drift off peacefully. ((yeah, I worked early today...it's now one day before Christmas, and I'm bushed. I'm using my roommate's computer to start this: hopefully my new motherboard and processor will be here tomorrow, and will make my computer work again (they're scheduled to arrive tomorrow, i swears!...and then, my Razer Lachesis arrives on the 27th ^^ yay!) so i have a reliable way to play WoW every night (as i've been unable to for the past 6 months or more). All my rl friends on my former server (Earthen Ring) have either quit, or severely reduced their involvement in the game, and I'm not nearly ready to, so I'm starting a new priest on the Mannoroth server with another few rl friends who requested that I do so :)
well, I'm all sorts of tired, as I may have mentioned. so I'm off to bed before I start doing worse things than beginning sentences with lowercase letters.))
