Lord of The Rings Online

Refer a Friend & Play for Free!

Turbine kicked off their Referral Program today for Lord of the Rings Online.

The Turbine Referral Program lets paying subscribers of The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ refer friends to play the game and receive free game time for successful referrals, subject to certain terms and conditions (see myaccount.turbine.com/referral/rules). Each of your referred friends will be sent a Guest Key to try the game for free for ten (10) consecutive days!

On top of that, anyone who you've referred that purchases the game will unlock a free 30 days of game time for you. If you're a lifetime member, you'll be given a free 30 day game time card to give out to a friend.

That's not it though - those with Founder Pricing can offer it to up to 10 friends. If you want to find out more about this great offer from Turbine, then you'll want to pay a visit to the Referral Program page.

Wow has a similar program in place, it's really nice for seeing where your status with the referral is at too!

Took them quite a while to come up with a decent trial system. The one buddy key that came with the game wasn't enough :)

This will surely boost the number of players..

Last I heard they were doing fairly well on box sales. Now in terms of subscriptions now compared to launch, I'm not sure. I don't believe they've announced subscription numbers recently, but the initial numbers were around one million.
