The Dps Tank

The life of a Tank.

Well, hello there. I assume that your reading this because either

A) Your bored and hopped on to look at random news and addons and happened to randomly click this blog. or,

B) You like reading gaming blogs on curse.

Mmmmmk.

Every now and then I will add updates to my blog, so if you actually happen to like reading these, check in every so often, now lets get.... blogging?

My character that I play full time is a young (though I supose 2 years in RL is 57 years in WoW time) Male dwarf, who goes by the name of Golnan.

After leveling to the heighty heights of lv 80, spending 4k Gold on crafted epics / enchants and gems. I began raiding the next day with a guild I had been in for well over a month. Needless to say, I was promptly kicked the next week after winning a roll on T7 leggings, and then telling the GM off for giving me **** about pulling aggro off the main tank. I am now known as a ninja to some on my realm (Dath'remar...Pay me a visit ^^).

Moving on to another guild, Outsider PO, was great, had fun, got loot, Guild Disbanded and I was left out in the cold, cold, world of warcraft. Which sucked *** because I, a fairly well geared tank, couldnt even find a guild to raid with.

Of course, I, Bounced around from guild to guild till I found the right one, which I just joined today, Xcellence, of Dath'remar (Visit meh :D)

Well thats it for this Blog, hope you liked it, post comments on what I should write for the next blog (tanking tips?), and dont point out ****ing spelling mistakes please :P.

When we do a raid to gear up quildies we make sure that all of them agree that everyone has equal rights to loot so we don't argue about Master looter desicions and rolls afterwards. If, for instance, a priest is shadow specced withing a raid but we all know he is only filling a DPS spot due to lack of spellpower, he gets an equal right to roll on items that improve healing as healinng is what he usually does in raids. Same would be for a fury tank who filled a DPS spot as a raid was lacking one. In some cases we just try not to take many same undergeared classes/builds into one raid and try to make two seperate raids instead.

All in all, this issue should be a raid leader responsibility and at least if he decides someone is not worth the drop this decision should be based on something more valuable than a period of time this person was in the guild. I don't think you would join the raid at all if he mentioned in the beginning that newcomers would not have a right to roll on things if oldschool members need. This basically means that he's cheated when he invited you, or wanted to, considering you got the loot after all^^, without letting you know all of this. Why would you be invited into a raid if you were such a bad player (not to deserve a drop)?

That gm fellow definitely lacks sense of logic.

I'd say he got what he deserved - cheat and you'd be cheated)

What happened was basically, the Gm didnt like me beating people he thought were "more deserving" on winning the leggings. He then proceeded to invite more people and told them to call me a ninja. Basically, that guild has gone to hell now. I wasnt sure if I were to be putting specific things about tanking, but i guess i could easily. Thanks for reading, and thanks for dropping by.

(PS , i was going to leave anyway because after hearing 8 people on vent go "Ahhh wtf he dosnt ddeserve them" when you were there and you worked as hard if not more them, you really do deserve the loot, it kinda makes your heart sink.)

"I was promptly kicked the next week after winning a roll on T7 leggings"

I read it twice and still don't have a clue how exactly do you become a ninja by winning a roll? That guild must have had a weird set of rules if there were any at all...

And I am sure to come back and read your blog as I have a warrior too and need more knowledge about tanking.

No problems mate, Im not to cut that you do not feel like coming back, to be honest i dont care if anyone comes back. Oh, How do i sound like a ninja when "you're" reading what i have typed up. Wait no nvm that, i forgot i have super pshycic powers that enable me to trasmit my voice over a blog into someones mind. I am "your" better, do as i say.

Oh btw, an "affront to the English language" is a bit rough mate, You obviously have not been introduced to the current generations level of language. Thats real...uh....genocide...yeah genocide of the english language.

You sure sound like a ninja to me.

Also, if you expect people to read your ramblings, give them the courtesy of learning the difference between "your" and "you're." When the first thing I read from you is an affront to the English language, it doesn't encourage me to come back, personally.

Gear really isn't required anymore to a certain extent. Though the more well geared you are, the dps you can dish out obviously. Ulduar i would say that 2.5k dps would be the norm for all the tanks.

Most dps I have ever reached was just under 2.2k on patchwerk.
