The Dps Tank

Notating Rotating.

Hi guys, me again ^^

/insert intro explaining whats been going on in my life.

The other day, while tanking heroic malygos(EoE), a fellow warrior tank whom i have never met asked me what rotation I used half way through the fight (rude man :P).

Not having much time to reply to him at the present time though I was inclined to, I realised that I did not stick to 1 particular rotation, and could not give him to much advice on it, basically, work your own out. After recieving some rude remarks from said player I began to really think about how not worrying about a strict rotation could affect me, or more importantly, how it wasnt.

The introduction of shockwave and sword and board / more AP means warrior tanks are really a loaded machine gun, with a small amount of reloading time in between slam spams. The aggro gaining process is rarther simple now, and I vividly remember having at least a 5 second time in BC so that dps classes wouldnt pull off me and die, now its just charge in with reckless abandon, and watch out for whatever (E.G Sparks on maly, and -/+ on thadius).

Without me even noticing it, blizzard has changed a old rule of tanking, watch your rotation while watching the fight.

    On topic:

You mentioned that fellow being a warrior himself, and that begs a question: Didn't he actually see it during the fight? Can you really confuse any warrior abilities for other? The animation of each ability is unique and if he really wanted to know it was out there, you just have to pay attention a bit=)

    Offtopic:

My warrior is too low yet (30) but I built it prot since level 10 and I fight  in defensive stance all the time and I totally love it. I don't know why everyone advises the beginners to go fury or arms at the start as I find it amazingly fast and entertaining to level as prot. In a fight against a mob 1-2 levels above me I can get 2/3 HP off of it with one Revenge hit. I never die. I totally love all the abilities that require either shields or defensive stance (or both) like Shield block, Disarm, Shield Wall, Shield bash! (I'm caster hater!^^) Unlike my first attempt to roll a warrior and she was fury and survivability was awful. Maybe that was why i deleted that char. Probably protection is just 'my cup of tea' and that's why I am better at it than at 2H. Just want to add my 2 cents that if you enjoy it as well you can go ahead and level protection warrior beginning from level 10 and not listen to people who say it's terribly boring. Big pulls=fun!:)

So far have only been tanking BFD and Stockades. Holding aggro is fun thing to do. I don't have any blues on me but I make enough gold to keep the green gear up with my level, stacking stamina and strength. BFD was a challenge when it came to beating the crap out of casters (I was below 30 then) but we managed (good they are clothwearers and Sunder armor leaves them completely naked and fast to deal with)

Can't wait to get into really messy places like Blood Furnace=D
