I play it for the balls. I like PvP.

i play the games because of the social part of it and the feeling of satisfaction that you get when you complete a quest with a group of like minded individuals and there is also the added attraction that if you pvp you arent fighting against an ai that is following a set program but another person who can be as random in there actions as yourself. oh ant to the social aspect i agree that it actually helps you to socialise in  rl

I think it is obvious. In this kind, we are unleashed. we can do everything in the way we want. Lets take crysis, cod, or halflife. These are the most popular games which millions of people play who do not play mmorpgs. but in those games, getting further in game depends on a constant way you are obeyed to follow by game creator. and worse thing is that these games have their ends. after 20 hours, you will see you are at end and you got nothing but lost time from your life. so it is ridiculous. on the other hand, in mmorpgs, lets say WoW, you are on your own. everything you do or not do determines what you will be. and what you will be is completely on your hands. so it makes me free, it improves my creativity. I dont even mention about language skill improvement or bein team member or getting responsibility. Consequently, I think we are not non-social but more social than others who are not in these worlds.

I play because it gives me something to do. And, I am not really "socially unfit", I'm more social than some of my friends who don't even play MMO's... But, maybe that's why they're my friends. xD. But yeah, MMOs are fun, meeting people is fun, and it's something to do.

yes, most of people think that playing in general is same as playing console game or an online game. Its so much different, in console game you cant interact with other people. (nowadays most games have online possibility)

And they dont know that these mmorpgs actually help in life, not completely useless. Teamwork, english language (atleast to me, im not from an english speaking country) and social abilities how to interact with people from other countries and so on... since i started WoW i have never read for my english exams and ive always passed em. Maybe not 100% pass but better than average.

i like the whole medieval feel of (most) rpgs

i also like character customization

i like the fact that there's no set order to do anything

they stay fun a lot longer

I wouldnt say socially unfit, when in fact Mmorpg's are very social game and very much of your acting can affect your future in the game.

I just play cause it's fun.

Simple as that.

I am with you on that.  Not only is it endless, but there is so much diversity in skill levels that depending on what I want to do, depends on the intensity of what I choose to do within the game.  I can also be a much higher level, and play/help lower levels.  So this gives me another range of play with my kids. I like it for them because it teaches them teamwork and economics.
