Microsoft has clearly learned from their mistakes with Vista. Yesterday they officially opened up the Windows 7 Beta to 2.5 million people -- allowing any PC user who is interested to sign up, download the beta, and get started testing the next evolution of Windows. After checking it out for about a day now, there are not only visual improvements immediately noticeable, but performance improvements as well. It's definitely faster than Windows Vista. (But what isn't?)
However, as with any Beta software, there are chances your PC will crash when running it or some applications may not run properly, so if you want a stable Operating System then stick to your current for now. But if you do want to check out the improvements for yourself, you'll have until August 1st, 2009 to use the current version of Windows 7.
