yeah, but 3dfx was also blasting in the past :)
The old 3d monster to the voodoo 3000 where pure ownage.
Even on low-end computer did impressive graphic once the game where loaded (wich could take alot, and alot of time).

I dind't new that the old 3dfx creditor where in a lawsuit vs Nvidia, but it's probably the last time we heard of 3dfx in a press-release.

9800 GX2

Hottest rig in the world. These are like the 7950s...

and just so you all know... it's 2 8800 GTSs on the same PCB...

Either go for an 8800 GTS 512mb (faster than the 8800 GTXs in some cases (but lower bandwidth) or go for a 9600 or 9800 GTX. This is a waste of my PSU.

Thats just a general Wattage. So far the tests have shown that this consumes more power idle than the 3870x2 but consumes less when running.

Also this thing is a system heat beast. Blowing the air back into the case like that... that just makes me a sad panda.

Well I gotta say the overall design is nice but at $599 a pop.... I'd stick to two 8800 GTS 512, especially with their price dropping. Its maybe 20% better output... I guess if you really need to run Crysis at settings god himself would forbid..... well maybe this is better... but I don't think $200 is worth that little of an increase.

Also I've been poking around and it seems to be reported in several places that Call of Duty 4 has some bugs with this card at some settings. Seen it reported at tomshardware and Hottech.
