Curt Schilling to leave sport for MMOs

We hear of PC Games having a detrimental effect on the health of young people all the time but this latest news sees one of Americas biggest sporting names depart Baseball to run his MMO house, 38 Studios.

For those of you who don't know, Curt Schilling is a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, an American Major League Baseball team.

Curt plans to, "do nothing except be a father, husband, and run this company," which refers to his new MMO development studio, 38 Studios.

The firm is currently working on a unannounced MMO title that, according to CNN, is a "game is based on a new IP that he says will include deliberate and strategically planned brand extensions into film, TV, books, comics, and action figure iterations."
