all good that ends with wow...?

    oookay...
now it's been more then half year since i last posted here something, and when i did, i was all into playing my holy priest. (ah...good memories) but it was all holy till the point i was forced to look for a new guild, due to the old one dying out and actually being canceled and nicely erased from the guild list. and as always - new guild, new people, new situation. and surprisingly they had zero need for a healer, while shadow priest would be nicely apreciated...

but it went rather well and i managed to get used to shadow and start liking it and it actually felt really nice when month or two later after the switch he (priest) was finally rounding up with decent gear from Naxx and VoA, but here came the isue (as in isue for me)... while i was holy, it was all good and i actually got apreciated by doing what i had to do decently without any epic failures and bugging everyone with mana break after every minor pull. but here...it was all about DPS and stuff like 'hey priest...you're a priest so heal in between attacking...' (yes...i heard it at least twice a week when it came to daily HC or just HC farming).

i won't go ahead and say something like 'i LIKE had LIKE amazing DPSSS and my priest OWNed the place'... nope...he had roughly dps inbetween 1.7k to 2.2k, depending on buffs and mobs in HCs. and honestly after being a healer for ages it's just hard to live on when your main thing you need to keep an eye on now is the DPS meter, to avoid someone bugging the hell out of you about something you can't change much at the set moment.

anyways what i'm getting at is the fact that after being kinda pushed in the direction of dps (fc i could have said no, but it seemed better that way at the time, so i went along with it), it started to push me away from my priest, and now it was rather hard to catch up with healing gear, cuz most of the times the actual raid healers were taking their rights to claim the gear or tokens. and wel...all good that ends with wow was my priest who ended up being deleted sometime midsummer.

well i guess that's one bitchy priest less on wow, and me rounding up to understanding that a caster/healer loving me can't just live on only thinking about dps and mashing keys to just tap the meter instead of keeping people alive and having my share of fun when somebody overpulls or don't get the idea that hunters doesn't really tank ;D

anyways...thanks for reading those who did
    ~ end of rant (:

    Holy Priest as Healer...?

As I've been playing with Holy Priest for a while now, of course I as well have had a chance to hear all sorts of unique stuff about healers and everything related to it. The basic knowledge that healer is guilty no matter what is common and known to anyone, but that's not the point. What I'm willing to rant about is the fact that people are starting to make a point across lately that Holy Priests are one of the worst healing classes, which is not exactly making me happy, considering I'm running around with one.

But the thing is that the reasons why people are putting down Holy Priests is the fact that they, unlike Paladins can't wear armor to reduce damage taken and like Paladins and Druids/Shamans can't do some decent damage if needed. And in all honesty - these reasons amuse me to no end!

First of all - Healer in the party shouldn't have to worry about taking damage, as there should be a tank who should be able to keep aggro on himself and mobs away from healer. So unless Healer is an idiot and throws healing spells at someone before aggro has been built up - Healer shouldn't even be worrying about taking any damage.

Then about doing damage... Now please explain someone me from where this bright idea has came from - Healing units doing damage...? Considering that all healers are mana based, and if in a pinch most likely will be put in a place where they will have to use up all the mana they have, then why should they trash the mana to damage someone, if dps are meant for that?

uh...I'm throwing here more questions then giving answers/comments, but this is a complete rant - so no objections please...
as for the keeping holy priest reputation where it should be - do a simple comparing within talent trees. Not that hard to do - and you'll get a quite good clue about the difference healing bonus wise and those few lovely spells holy priests get from talent tree - like spirit of redemption (which in combination of Glyph of Spirit Of Redemption allows healer to heal in this form for good amount of time), Lightwell which is quite useful as it requires only one click to start healing and it's not that hard to heal using it in the middle of a fight if needed and lastly circle of healing - from my point of view one of the most promising spells, as it healing party members around the target (including target, if it's not from other faction or a mob). So that's my quick point across about this all...
