I play on the Fenris server, dunno what battlegroup that is but we have never had long Q's for AV and I play a lot--I mean a lot--of AV there being that I don't belong to any guilds so depend on the BGs for my equipment.

Alliance has never "boycotted" any of the BG's there, I really can't think of any particular BG with an extraoridinary Q time, longest I have waited is 10 mins, usual wait time is 4 min or less for any BG. So I guess its a question of where you are and group behavior.

Btw, on our server Alliance usally wins AV, its WSG, EOS and AB where we lose our shirts...again just a characteristic of our server and the servers that play with us.

Now I must say that after the last major upgrade Alliance encountered a steep learning curve, it took us a month or so to get the new hang of AV, horde ruled us for the longest time...however once we learned there is more to winning then "getting Galv" we were off and running. Hint: if you still want to give Alliance headaches play a lot of defence and fill up Galv with horde players...on the other hand we have adjusted to this and turtles, once so common are now rare.

Still AV is in my opinion the best BG in WoW and I thank all the horde who make it such fun, I figure if I do not die I aint playin! ;)

Now as to your gf, I think it is time to have a talk with her, explain how seriously you take the game and see if you can't work out a compromise...for example set aside a day (or days) for raiding and a set number of hours where you will not be disturbed. ALSO set aside a day (or days) and time where you pay attention to her. If you dont give you aint gonna get any, dont think I need to explain that. ;)

Yeah I definitely noticed long queues the bit of time I played. I think it's fairly silly that Alliance players decided to boycott AV this weekend.

speaking as a somewhat more casual player than the OP, i'll say your situation with your ladyfriend depends heavily on your ladyfriend. for instance, my buddy (who will remain nameless due to how friggin whipped he is) can be in the middle of an instance or arena matches, and out of nowhere will go afk for 5-10 minutes, then suddenly come back, cry "girlfriend aggro" and log. as far as i can tell he plays less than me. then there's a lady like my lady, who doesn't understand it, occasionally shows interest in what she's seeing me do on the screen, but will almost definitely never play WoW. however, unless i've just flat out ignored her for 3 or 4 days, she won't give me any crap about it. hell, she regularly tells me to "have fun storming the castle", and she knows sunday nights are my arena nights, and never hassles me about it. me and my friend have been dating our girlfriends for about the same amount of time. we're both laid back, geeky but caring kinda guys. so you see, it's not so much how you deal with your girlfriend when it comes to WoW, but how your girlfriend decides to deal with you.

I am Alliance from Azgalor on the Ruin battlegroup. We had no boycott on my server. queue times were the usually 5-8 minutes which are FILLED with Horde premades.

Our arena queue times are insane, up to 14 min for 2v2.

My wife and I played EQ together, then when we stopped playing EQ and started with WOW we play that together. We also play Hellgate London TOGETHER.

We are in a Raiding guild, we play almost daily BUT if we don't want to raid...we don't. We go watch a movie or just sit on the sofa and watch TV like mindless zombies.

The important thing we found out was that when one doesn't feel up to playing ( hard day at work or what ever ) we stay off the computer and spend time together

on a side note, she only actually started playing games with me so she COULD spend time with me. It wasn't like I was at the clubs or out all night... I was right there at the computer and she was there with me. It might not be the best thing but it was better than nothing at all :)

My suggestion is that when she asks why how long your going to be if you tell her ...30 mins... then you should be done in 30 mins let your guild/raid/arena team know that in 30 mins...you HAVE to go. A game is not as important as your RL relations. EVER.

well, don't have a lot of issues with my missus, since we don't live together =D
she knows that I prefer to play on sunday nights, sometimes friday too, since we try to get raids going there (full casual guild) but I try and spend an equal amount of time/evenings with her, thus evening it out.
must admit I am not too interested in moving in with her atm, since I can't really see this trend continuing
