As with EQ, it has become a giant for propaganda, and BS. I had been with EQ since it first began, and left just recently because of the quality of game play. Whatever happened to the actual playing of a game? You know, it's supposed to be about fun, not what clique you belong to, which uber-armor/weapon you have or anything else. At this point, if Vanguard becomes Everquest 3, rest assured, there will be one less player.

Everqueast is all about how many expansions SOE can put on it, raids and everything else, yes, some raids were fun, but on the whole, Everquest is definately getting too big for it's own good. If they want to do expansions, then instead of having to pay extra for them, figure the digital downloads into the price of the subscription to play..... We pay enuf for the subscription. As far as I am concerned SOE has lost it's way in the gaming field and is more interested in how much money they can sucker out of people, instead of actual gaming.....

While I can agree that current day EverQuest isn't the same game I enjoyed 5 years ago, the SoE team has done a solid job with EQ2 - more specifically since Scott Hartsman(Gallenite) took over as producer. If you remember, Scott was also the producer of EQ during the Planes of Power days(which many old timers consider the last good EQ expansion - though there can be arguments either way), and also ushered in the new EQ UI.

I think it's safe to say that while many may dislike SoE for what "happened" to EQ, they are capable of rebuilding a game and bringing it closer to its original design goals.

if they really think they can get the game to what it was hyped as, then there is little point in playing now.

and if they cant get the game finished then i have saved myself a few months and a few £s

the problem will be if everyone does that then the game will die in this interim time (unless SOE is willing to use its very deep pockets).
