Here's the official update about Mythic and BioWare Working Together:

From the General News category we have: Mythic and BioWare Form New RPG/MMO Group:

Today we have important news to share with the community. EA is restructuring its RPG and MMO games development into a new group that includes both Mythic and BioWare. This newly formed team will be led by Ray Muzyka, co-founder and General Manager of BioWare. With this change, Ray becomes Group General Manager of the new RPG/MMO studio group. BioWare’s other co-founder, Greg Zeschuk will become Group Creative Officer for the new RPG/MMO studio group. Rob Denton will step up as General Manager of Mythic and report to Ray. BioWare’s studios remain unchanged and continue to report to Ray.

Mark Jacobs, current General Manager of Mythic will leave EA on June 23, 2009. We thank Mark for his contributions at Mythic and wish him the very best going forward. Mark played a major part in the success of Mythic with his contribution as General Manager and Lead Designer of WAR.

Mythic retains a strong team led by Rob who co-founded Mythic in 1995. Rob played a critical role in the development of Dark Age of Camelot. In his previous role as COO, he was responsible for all day-to-day management of the studio including all development, operations and support.

Please join us in celebrating the union of these two award-winning studios.

I'd have to disagree. I was playing WAR up until maybe 3 months ago. Mythic has refused to address the stuttering, hitching, and various other performance issues that made the game unplayable for me and countless others. I like WAR at launch and was one of its biggest proponents in my other game's guilds. It wasn't even the skill bugs or quest bugs, not to mention the repetitive zerg rvr that killed WAR for me, but the performance of the client. There was just no reason to stay, and I took my money elsewhere, as have others.

I liked war, but the pve was a bit boring. Mythic can create good games, they just release them too early.

and shirv... War is not a bad game now, as with every other mmo, the launch is always full of glitches and class imbalances. I would say war has had the best MMO start, very few tech glitches and pvp imbalances.

This is an interesting story. Not to overgeneralize, but it seems most gamers have nothing but praise for BioWare and nothing but scorn for Mythic for the way they have handled their respectives titles in the past. Also interesting to note: Mark Jacob's departure. Many of the decisions that caused WAR to flounder I'm sure stemmed from him, so I'd be curious to see how this new group handles the development of WAR. It seems that BioWare and Mythic will stay separate creative entities but both report to the same person in the corporate infrastructre, which is good, because I'd hate to see BioWare's new Star Wars title tainted by the mismanagment that plagued WAR.
