2.1 PTR: 4/30/2007 Test Patch Changes - Updated

There was a PTR patch today that introduced some additional changes. Of note are the Spellfire and Frozen Shadoweave changes, as well as another reduction to the PvP Epic Gem Honor costs.

Comparison:

Old Stats:
(73.8 damage per second)
+17 Stamina
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 15.
Equip: Increases attack power by 14.

New Stats:
(72.0 damage per second)
+26 Stamina
Yellow Socket
+3 Stamina Socket Bonus

    Wow blizzard... instead of changing the frozen shadoweave set bonus like you should of for frost specced mages and shadow priests, you lower the dmg by 32 and increase int by 24.

    Considering those who would use the shadoweave set have several ways of getting back mana (Mana Gems, Evocation, Vampiric Touch, Life Tap, Dark Pact) and have ways of dropping Aggro/not creating that much... it doesn't seem like an improvement.. certainly not worth getting the Massive amounts of Primal Waters. Hopefully this won't come to be.

    It seems to mostly be server-side changes, so we'll have to get a list compiled tonight. The two screenshots above are what I was able to get within a couple minutes of logging in. I'm scouring the PTR now for more info.

    Something I can add is that Mongoose has received a new look. I'll work on getting screenshots of it.

    For Frozen Shadoweave, the stats are now:

    Shoulders: +21 Sta +23 Int (+8 Int) +39 Dmg(-11 dmg)

    Chest/Vest: +30 Sta +28 Int (+8 Int) +60 Dmg (-12 dmg)

    Boots: +15 Sta +17 Int (+8 Int) +46 Dmg (-11 dmg)

    So, +24 Int for -34Dmg. The old 3piece set was +179, the new set is +145, or 19% flat-out nerf.

    Oh, and no mat reduction for the patterns.

    Mongoose shot added. The enchant pulses, starting at nothing and ending with what you see in the screenshot.

    imho the changes for the sets are quite nice

    you wont still find any chest with that much "spell"dmg same goes to the other parts, and more int is more mana and more crit so its still very good for casters, but the previous version was/is just overpowered

    oh, and yay for the new pvp-gem prices XD

    well.. woop de doo when as a Afflic warlock you can use +crit for *** :(... i need high +shadow and +hit.. and then i'm good. And with an already not impressing set bonus, (for me at least) this i sucky sucky

    This is a very disappointing yet not unexpected change. These sets essentially forced all casters to train tailoring, or be substandard. Just like they are forced to train enchanting for the ring enchants.

    I see they changed the pattern from vest to robe (or is there both now?) Does anyone have a screenshot of the new Robe? please please please!

    What do I care for a new look for mongoose... changing the proc so that it also works for ranged attacks... that would be awesome... there is at the moment no real 1h-enchant for hunters except maybe 30 int and only when you have th 45% int -> ap talent hmhm

    If they were going to trade +dmg for stats on the Spellfire set, I'd much prefer to have some stam instead of int. 24 int isn't going to make much of a difference w/anything - it's a nomimal %crit increase and mana is already very manageable for mages so the increase here isn't really needed. 24 stam, however, would actually be somewhat useful for mages as we're so squishy. In any case, I'd rather have the +dmg. QQ :)

    These Changes to tailoring sets will revert back to original stats before the patch goes live. Stated by Blue, on official forums here:
