Serpentshrine Cavern Visibility Hotfix

Daelo posted on the Raids & Dungeons forum about a hotfix to visibility ranges of creatures in Serpentshrine Cavern.

Daelo wrote:

To try and address reported frame rate issues in Serpentshrine Cavern, a change to the visibility rules for many of the creatures there has been made. Players will no longer be able to see manyof the creatures at a completely unlimited distance, but at the more normal visibility range you typically experience with outdoor content. No changes were made to the actual spawning of the zone.

That is not meaningless, SSC is killing high end computer's fps easily down to 20 or below currently. Not bad for a game with +2years on it's back!

A game with 2 years on its back and which was by a very large part designed to be playable even on lower-end computers.

Getting FPS down to as low as 20 in newer machines sure as hell ain't good in that case.

Anyway. The ones working on the encounters don't have so much to do with the ones working on on this fix, different nature.

And it takes what, 5-10 minutes to just simply change the visibility distance on all the mobs. Something an employee could very well have done on his own coffee break. Fixing Lurker and the buggy encounters is a multi-hour/day operation.
