Millenium Trumps Nihilum at ESWC

The World of Warcraft 5v5 Arena exhibition match between Nihilum and Millenium took place today at the ESWC in Paris, France.

Attendees from Nihilum were Ghorok, Awake, Kungen, Ekke, and Rulah. Attendees from Millenium were Molie, Khyna, Hurl, Razwa, and Lilline. You can check out the ESWC page on the official EU WoW Community Website.

Millenium swept the entirety of the games, taking the match 5-0 over Nihilum. Looking at a video of the match, it looked as if Millenium didn't lose a player in any of the games.

@ fatsock: Apples to oranges. You can also say that there are PvP players who should not play PvE. :)

    This is very true.

I would rather say that it takes a different kind of skill than saying it dosen't take any at all. There is a reason why only a few guilds can accomplish what they do in pve.... If that isn't skill what is it then? :)

ROFL, just goes to show that PvE players should not play PvP.

PvE doesn't take any skill... Nihilum are noobs

LOL who didn't see this comming honestly?

Well, Curse has had impressive achievents in both PvE and PvP(Curse's Log team did beat Millenium), so many people, including me, expected the same from Nihilum.

    Aha, thanks!

Its too bad that nilhium didnt get to practice against millineum on their private test server like they do against all the pve bosses. Shows you what happens when they go up against something thats real =)

This doesent prove anything at all, immagine if Nihilum had been PvP'ing just as much as Millenium. Practice takes you a long way in pvp, same goes ofc to pve, but I doubt as many are able to put togehter a group of people at the same competance level for WoW as Nihilum does, give the same 5 guys a pvp task for 6 months in the future I'm sure they would woop Millenium over :-)

If there's a video of the matches Please post the link. Please.

Kind of Ironic to see the thread annoucing the match was trashed, but the results (As anti-climatic as it is) got good rating.

Anyways, this doesn't say anything from what we already knew. Nihilum does their thing, Millenium does theirs, and we all strive to be just like them, in one way or another.

@sandyclaws : Got an issue with Nihilum or something? Can't handle the fact their PvE progress is far better and that they have already seen stuff you will never be able to see?

Anyway, on-topic. I expected this was going to happen. I'm a player heavily focussed on PvE and I rarely PvP, but in those rare PvP moments I can tell that it required a whole different type of coördination as a team, specially in arena matches. That's the point where Nihilum simply lacked practice, and I'm sure they will get better over time if they keep it going... If Blizz doesn't release Zul'Aman or something else soon that is =D

    @Shrake : lol.

    Anyway, on-topic.

PvEers cannnot pvp. PvPers can Pve.

Shrake, Awake did say that Nihilum focuses on the Arena pretty seriously now and that they plan to have 2 Arena teams at the WSVG. So despite the quite big loss at this match, I think they'll train to get much better in the forseeable future, Zul'Aman probably won't change much as it'll supposedly be an instance easier than Hyjal or BT.

To all those who say PvE'rs shouldn't PvP, I once again repeat that the Curse guild has been very successful at both, so it is very much possible.

@ Kamisutra: That's what I meant. They did somewhere about 30(?) matches with the team they used? They definatly need alot of practice, but they're great players overall, so they'll be ok one day I guess...

btw...iirc Nme and Ekke are not the same person, and they used Nme in their team, not Ekke =P

note: I'd love to have some sort of "off the record" exhibition match against Curse one day as we're in the same Battlegroup.

  • Fri, Jul 6 2007 7:03 PM ()

Nah, while I agree with you, Nihilum did a lot more than 30 games, they did 197 rated matches in 5v5 and more if we count 2v2 and 3v3 games. Of course that's less than what Millenium had, but they did have practice.

Also, the Nme thing is rather strange, the only Nme character on the Magtheridon server is a lvl 17 Blood Elf Mage, so I do think it is an alt made by Ekke or some other Nihilum member to use during the compeition, since most pro PvP'ers consider Blood Elf racials slightly better for casters than Undead ones.

And yeah, I'm in Curses Battlegroup too, would love to see them playing "live" once, too.

The Millenium team during the second arena phase and European Finals was missing their priest because of disqualifications. They had to play with a quite bad compo. That does not want to say they could have beaten them but it helps to explain why they lost.
