Blizzard planning cell phone version?

>As lines form outside game stores around the world, and the mainstream media showers Blizzard’s expansion with praise, Burning Crusade lead producer Shane Dabiri has been talking about how just about everyone connected with the company helped create the new worlds.

>Dabiri said, “We get a lot of inspiration from our own games. It’s almost like this think tank thing going on, where we borrow and steal from one another. Everyone on our team plays the game and they’re probably our biggest critics. The wives, kids of employees. Some employees will be home in bed and their wife will roll over and say ‘You really have to fix that quest.’” > >The expansion has been in development since October 2005, and slipped from its original release date of late last year. In the early hours of this morning, retailers reported eager lines of consumers forming to get their hands on the expansion, and get to work leveling up to the new peak of ‘70’. > >8 million people currently play World of Warcraft – the game was originally targeted to hit a million subscribers. Burning Crusade is certain to be the biggest-selling add-on of all time. > >Dabiri said Blizzard is planning “one expansion per year” as well as rolling live updates. In an interview with Red Herring he added, “The first one took a little bit longer than a year to complete, we’re going to try to narrow that down for subsequent expansions.” > >But he said one of the biggest challenges is getting things done on schedule, “One of the biggest frustrations is time. I always wish we could get things done more quickly. But it’s just not how we do things here. We’re always about perfection. That being said, part of being a producer is making sure these things come out on time and under budget.” > >He also revealed that, although console versions of the game are unlikely, some form of phone input or version is on the cards, “We’re definitely looking at phones. As far as console development for WoW, there are no plans at this time.”

A strange title considering the only part where he refers to phones is right at the end, and in no way does he say a VERSION of WoW for phones. He suggests they would be used as an input of some sort. Maybe you would phone a gnomish engineer for help with a quest.

I read about something similar being in a game of old.

Maybe you can access your bank, mailbox or AH from a phone. I've heard complaints from people that can't check their bids from work during the day so it's hard to win items without using the buyout option.
