OK, then, maybe you can help me figure this out. I have an 80 DK who is exalted with Valiance Expedition. She went to the Dalaran riding skill trainer last night after the patch came out and the Artisan riding skill still showed as costing 5k instead of the 4k that it should be with the rep discount. Any idea why?

This interested me so much I'm gonna have to say something.

I'm a noob. And I'm upset that my first ever character is level 28 right now, and if I choose to get my mount at level 30, I have the potential to be screwed over by this patch two days later. However, everyone's complaining and bitching is ridiculous. OH NO, the noobs are gonna have it so EASY! Those stupid NOOBS!

I'm a newbie to this game, but I work for what I want and keep entirely to myself without bothing you high and mighty self-important lvl 80's. Jesus christ, give it a break. I'm pretty sure I haven't disturbed your game play by existing.

GAME play. It's a game. Complain about the real world and the REAL economic crisis, please.

What's next? Mounts at level 10? Blizz, get your head straight please... This is going to cause WAY more noobs at level 80, MORE fail pugs... Lol, it was fine at 40. I thought World of Warcraft was supposed to be a game you have to work at, not making it cruise control at 20.

The prices should remain as they are now. Kind of like having a "real" job in the "real" world it forces you to "learn" how to use the skills you chose to make gold for yourself and be self sufficient "BEFORE" you hit level 80. Too many people wait to get to level 80 before developing their skills and then get upset when they can't afford that nice epic gear they see for sale. Everything you need to succeed in the game is there for you. You just have to "work" for some things. Anyone that has put in those countless hours flyiing in left circles (Nascar style) in Sholazer mining that ore knows what I mean. I had 2500 gold by lvl 60 just "half heartedly" (not even trying hard)farming herbs and selling them on auction.

If they want to "Fix" or "Improve" something they need to drop that bullcrap Level 77 cold weather flying to about 72 or 73. We go through all the work and all the gold to get our Flyers and can't even use them for 7 levels in Northrend. Now with the new patch if you hit Northrend at 68, like I did, you cannot use them for 9 levels. What a load of horse crap.

I think this is cool. My Alliance main is 1200g away from his Epic Flyer. As for my Horde main, he is 71, no flyer, but enough gold to buy a flyer and cold weather flying already, so I'm gonna wait for 3.2.

As for those that want refunds, special mounts, etc, think of this: I bought a 32" LCD TV 2years ago for Currency9999. That very same TV now sells for Currency5999, do you really think I can go back to the shop and ask for a Currency4000 refund? This is the way of economics. Sorry to say...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

When buying TVs, computers, monitors, etc, there is often an insurance and if the price drops like a month after you buy it, you get the difference back. But if you are talking years difference that is different, things go down in price over years and that's just the way things are. WoW is different though, why should I pay 1000 gold for my blue flyer almost a year ago and then people get it for 100? Paying for raid materials was hard enough for me on top of saving for my flyer, now they get it much too cheap. Anyone that has a mount should get the gold sent back to them in the mail. The main effect of this update is to make alts easier to level. People need to stop crying about how "People don't have to work for it" cause does it really have any negative effects for you? NO. It does NOT, get out of your house more and stop taking it so seriously, look at it positively and maybe take the opportunity to level an alt since you have your epic land mount 20 levels earlier.

In my opinion the restrictions should be this but the cost should be the same as before. Seeing that the blue flyer will do 150% in air is very nice. Why pay 900 gold to learn training for something that goes slower than the epic land mount? It was honestly very, very stupid.

Still 5000g for Artisan riding .. what a joke! Wow wants us to buy gold? The cost should be a cool 1000g and no more.. fools!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You, sir, are a moron. Epic flyers were something to work towards at 70 after getting your blue flyer. It took me 2 weeks of farming primal water to get mine, and it should stay 5000 gold. Even at 80 you have to do dailies for a few weeks to afford your flyer. Epic flyer is not meant for everyone to have, and helps greatly while farming and doing dailies. It's something you have to work for... What next, "Epics are too hard to get. I want heroics to give Tier 9 and I want to be able to hit 30k"...

i think this is a great idea i mean i hav 2 80s and i know how terrible it is to go from a 80 with epic mounts to a lvl 20 or something trying to quest to lvl  up so this is gonna help out alot to lvling and i might actually go back to lvling them now

  • Sat, Jun 13 2009 2:49 PM ()

lvl 20s on mounts??? thats not right for all those who worked to atleast 30 to get one... 20s have no reason for a mount

Awsome. I really don't care about the gold but the fact that i had to run around till level 40 questing on foot and the "noobs" get to ride on their sweet 60% mounts for 5g pisses me off. TY BLIZZ! YOU MADE ME THE GEEK I AM TODAY!!!!!

stop qqing people.  did you know that about 4 years ago epic land mounts were free (if you won one of the dropping ones from ZG).

Guess how that feels when some lucky persons get their epic land mount for free at 60 level when getting 600g was hard....riding skills werent invented back then. All you needed was the mount and level requirement. And the mount cost like 600g.

Lol, I want my money back.  But gremoire is right, economics is not fair.

True that it's the middle finger to us 80's, but it will encourage newer players to continue leveling, and it will make alts more appealing.

  • Fri, Jun 12 2009 3:57 AM ()

a big middle finger to all of us who worked hard for what we have

The low level riding skill reduction in cost and level requirement will be nice for my alts but I really wish they'd nerf the cost of epic flying skill just a lil bit, it feels like I'll never have enough gold :/

I suppose I'll just have to get exalted with Kirin Tor...
