After reading all the previous comments, it seems like to me that in general its not so much about new ppl getting to 80 almost overnite,.. but rather its ppl who has been with this game awhile and are a little resentful that back in the day they had to wait till lvl 40 and shell out much more gold than what new ppl would have to with the new changes. When i started i had to wait till i was lvl 40 to get my first mount,. they lower it to lvl 20 now, well good for the new ppl. But just because ppl will start riding at lvl 20 does not mean that they will get to end game content that much faster,. some yes,. but they will still have to do the same quest we all did,. their new mounts wont help them kill anything,....we all wished we had mounts sooner when we was lower lvls.I can see where having a mount at lvl 20 will make the game more enjoyable for lower lvls, i remember all to well what it was like having to walk great distances to complete quest. There will always be ppl who are not as good as others, but everyone plays the game in their own way,...as long as they enjoy it more power to them.If they are not geared for more difficult instances, well that would be up to the the group/raid leader to let them know that a certain lvl of gear would be required for survivability.

Everyone is paying the same price to play this game so I see no reason not to make it easier for everyone to experience end-game content. People say that this will just increase the number of people who hit 80 without knowing how to play their class, but I really don't think they're anything to worry about. There have always been clueless people playing at endgame and they are not hard to recognize. If you see that someone obviously has no idea what they are doing, get rid of them and never bring them back.

makes sence to me, imagine in 4 years time and lets say there are 100 levels, who the hell is gonna spend a probable 50 hours to get to that level? but yes, this to me was too early of an update and should be delayed for a year or so...

    Kody,

That's all point of the game, you play the entire game and experience the transition from classic content to new content.  The new players will still play entire game and experience the new content and actually appreciate the game more.

I agree...I'm sick of Blizzard "holding everyone's hand" in this game. People need to be forced to do their own research and "earn" their way through the game. I'm sick of noobs coming into raids only to be carried.

souliisoul: To an extent, yes, but Blizzard doesn't view the classic game as where they want players to spend a large portion of their time. They want them experiencing the new, cool content that they've created based on what they've learned over the past 4 years of post-release development.

I agree with soul and will go farther by saying that this is a ploy to keep as many unskilled people as possible in the game. If you can't make enough gold to get your level 30 mount you don't have the skills to play this game, because it's not just about grinding quests or honor, it is about making gold as well. This is why at level 80 we are seeing more and more nubs trying to go into Nax 25 with greens. If you think lowering the gold requirements helps people, you are wrong. It makes it worse for them in end-game when they have to know how to earn their keep.

    Hi Kody,

I disagreed (not saying am right), since if you are a new player, you have not undertaken all the quests and so it is new and you should progress at a steady rate. Game is for enjoyment, not trying to level to 80 as fast as possible and then losing interest because there are no new quests and you don't want to enter a guild because raiding is so repetitive. PVP another grinding experience, kind not to participate in.

Increasing the experience gained in old worlds is enough, see no reason to lower the mounts.

    Thats my opinion.

Kilometerss, Meatpieandwow, and Gilgamesh195 all have it right. It's to ensure the beginner experience remains as high of a quality as when the game was new. What we played when we purchased our mounts was a much shorter leveling process. These changes are to help balance that out so the leveling process to max-level remains consistent.

@cyberdoo808: This is hardly making the game easier, it is actually giving the new players the chance to catch up with the veterans.

Obsolete?* (My spelling is bad lol, /prepares to be trolled)

  • Thu, Jun 11 2009 10:53 PM ()

Actually they are making it so you can get through the boring pre wotlk content that dosnt mean crap all anymore faster. They dont want new players to be stuck walking through 2 worlds of absolute content.

This is awesome. Because I am always complaining about my epic flying. lol

it's not just about making it easier... it's spreading the skills throughout the levels so it's more even from 1-80. and who cares, it just makes traveling faster, it doesnt make you a better player.
