WotLK Beta Build - 8982

The Beta realms have been updated with a new build (8982). As usual stay tuned for all new changes.

New Wrath Gate Cinematic Movie
A new machinima movie has been added to the beta client featuring a battle at Angrathar, the Wrath Gate. With the followup story, it is probably the most epic event ever in the game! You can find it below this news item to avoid accidental spoiling. Clickety-click to go there directly.

Updates

23:00 CET - Small addition to Kel'Thuzad (25 man) loot table: The Turning Tide (MH Sword)
18:30 CET - Naxxramas 25-man loot update, new items from Kel'Thuzad (KT) and the 4 Horsemen.

03:30 CET - King Varian Wrynn also received a facelift.



02:30 CET - Sylvanas Windrunner has now her own unique model.



01:25 CET - Alexstrasza the Life-Binder (Queens of the Dragons) received a facelift.




01:20 CET - The Death Knight flying mount has a new model (see below)

22:55 CET - WoW Talent Calculator and Spell db have been updated to the latest build 8982.

Upcoming Hunter Changes (src)
I have some good news, and some bad news. First, the bad news. Unfortunately we won't be able to do the Aspect of the Viper change I discussed yesterday (passive instead of requiring you to attack the target) at this time because of technical limitations and its potential to shake up our current balance goals. However, we will evaluate it as an option for a future patch.

Now, the good news.

- Aimed Shot - This shot will now be instant cast, its damage/effect/cooldown will remain unchanged.
- Scatter shot - This will now be an 11-point Survival talent.
- Readiness - This will now be the 21-point Marksmanship talent.
- Trap Mastery - This will now be the 41-point Survival talent. Granted, not very sexy for a 41-pointer but we'll do some changes there in a future patch (after WOLK ships).

These changes will be live in an upcoming beta build.


Class Changes

Death Knight (8982:

Blood
Blood Strike - Added damage increased.
Will of the Necropolis - Anti-Magic Shell cooldown reduction increased to 4/8/12 seconds.
Heart Strike - Added damage increased.

Frost
Icy Touch - Damage increased.
Frost Strike - Weapon damage changed from 30% to 60% and added damage increased.
Rime - Critical effect chance increase now effects Obliterate.
Obliterate - Added damage increased.
Blood of the North - Two more ranks added. Now - Increases Blood Strike damage by 3/6/9/12/15%. In addition, whenever you hit with Blood Strike or Pestilence there is a 20/40/60/80/100% chance that the Blood Rune will become a Death Rune when it activates.
Improved Icy Talons - Passive attack speed increased from 2% to 5%.
Rune Strike - Weapon damage increased from 60% to 65%.

Unholy
Plague Strike - Added damage increased.
Death Coil - Damage and Healing increased.
Anti-Magic Shell - Cooldown increased from 15 to 60 seconds.
Death Grip - No longer has a minimum range.
Anti-Magic Zone - Now absorbs additional spell damage equal to your AP times 2.
Scourge Strike - Weapon damage down to 60% from 65%. Added damage increased.

Other
Runic Focus - Added. Increases the critical strike damage bonus of your spells by 100%.

Druid (8982:
Skills | Talents)
Balance
Starfire - Damage increased on all ranks.
Wrath - Damage increased on all ranks.
Insect Swarm - Damage increased on all ranks.
Eclipse - Starfire damage increase increased to 15%
Typhoon - Range increased to 30 yds.

Restoration
Tree of Life - Innervate can now be casted while in this form.

Hunter (8982:
Skills | Talents)
Beast Mastery
Separation Anxiety - Removed.
-NEW- Kindred Spirits - Increases your pet's damage by 4/8/12/16/20% and you and your pet's movement speed by 2/4/6/8/10% while your pet is active.

Marksmanship
Kill Shot - Required level changed to 75 for rank 1, and 80 for rank 2.
Scorpid Sting - Chance to hit with melee and ranged attacks changed from 3% down from 5%.
Rapid Recuperation - Now 2 points. Mana and focus cost reduction now 30/60% (OLD - 20/40/60%)

Survival
Explosive Shot - Damage reduced.
Freezing Arrow - Trap has a chance to break on damage instead of 100% chance to break on damage.
Lock and Load - Now gives you a 100% chance when you trap a target and a 100% chance when you deal periodic damage with your Serpent Sting to cause your next 2 Arcane Shot or Explosive Shot to trigget no cooldown, cost no mana, and consume no ammo.
T.N.T. - No longer increases the critical strike chance of Explosive Trap.
Improved Tracking - Changed from all damage to non-periodic damage.

Mage (8982:

Arcane
Arcane Blast - Mana cost increased on each cast changed to 200% down from 300%.

Fire
Improved Scorch - Now only affects your damaging Scorch spells.

Frost
Deep Freeze - Damage reduced.

Paladin (8982:
Skills | Talents)
Holy
Beacon of Light - Non working ranks fixed.

Protection
Divine Protection - Attack speed penalty increased from 50% to 100%.
Hammer of Justice - All ranks interrupt spellcasting for 3 seconds.
Shield of Righteousness - Changed from Holy damage equal to 240% of your block value. To Holy damage equal to your block value plus 300.

Retribution
Seal of Vengeance - Damage Lowered
Seal of Blood - Damage Lowered
Seal of the Martyr - Damage Lowered
Seal of Corruption - Damage Lowered
Seal of Command - Weapon damage lowered.
Fanaticism - Judgement critical hit chance increased to 5/10/15/20/25% up from 4/8/12/16/20%.

Priest (8982:
Skills | Talents)
Shadow
Shadow Word: Pain - Damage on all ranks reduced.
Improved Shadow Word: Pain - Damage increase changed to 3%/6% down from 5%/10%.
Mind Flay - Damage on all ranks reduced.
Twisted Faith - Damage increase changed while effected by a Shadow damage over time effect to while afflicted by Mind Flay by 2/4/6/8/10% up from 1/2/3/4/5%.

Rogue (8982:
Skills | Talents)
Assassination
Focused Attacks - Changed from 100%/100% to 33/66%.
Find Weakness - Damage increase changed to 2/4/6% down from 3/6/9%.

Combat
Killing Spree - No longer hits invisible or stealthed targets.

Subtlety
Opportunity - Now works all the time.

Shaman (8982:
Skills | Talents
Elemental
Storm, Earth and Fire - No longer increases spell power bonus of Lightning Bolt. Reduces the cooldown of your Chain Lightning spell by .5/1/1.5/2/2.5

Restoration
Riptide - Base healing increased from 764 - 826 to 1015 - 1099

Totems
Stoneclaw totem also protects your other totems, causing them to absorb damage.

Warlock (8982:
Skills | Talents)
Affliction
Improved Corruption - Damage increase now 2/4/12/16/20. Now increases the critical strike chance of your Seed of Corruption by 1/2/3/4/5%
Lasting Afflictions - Removed
Death's Embrace - Shadow Damage done while your target is below 35% health increased from 9% to 12%
Haunt - Healing effect increased from 20% to 200%.

Demonology
Metamorphosis - Duration reduced from 40 seconds to 30 seconds. Damage reduced from 40% to 20%

Destruction
Improved Shadow Bolt - Now increases Shadow damage dealt by 2/4/6/8/10% down from 3/6/9/12/15%
Backdraft - Cast time reduction changed reduced from 30%/30%/30% to 10%/20%/30%.

Warrior (8982:
Skills | Talents)
Fury
Titan's grip now reduces your chance to hit with damage-dealing ability that require a weapon by 15%.

Protection
Vigilance - Now reduces the damage taken by the group or raid target by 3%.

Wrath - Damage increased on all ranks. Insect Swarm - Damage increased on all ranks. Eclipse - Starfire damage increase increased to 15% Typhoon - Range increased to 30 yds. TY blizz!

    What is this? The nerf patch? The healers and druids are the only classes that made out on this one.

    Wow very nice Aim shot is now going to be a instant cast instead a 3 sec one thats going to pwn. To bad about the Aspect of the viper thing..but its good how it is right now to.

    Really is it too much to ask for Hunters to recieve a few nerfs every now and then? Like, ones tat actually make it easier to deal with them in PvP? This "Kindred Spirit" thing is really not cool. And Mages... are we just going to get shafted at every turn? All I see are damage reductions and nerfs to spells. Really, the next thing you know, Mages are going to have a nerf to the entire Fire Tree. Example: Mages Fire Spells now do 5-10 damage regardless of level. I mean, really. That's what it's feeling like here. Also, could we make it so Huntards' ammo has a chance of exploding while they're on fire? Seriously. You put gun ammunition in a fire and see what happens. Or at least make it so the ammo has durability.

    again the same are nerfed and will nether be able to be on par with others and do not tell me taht i am crying for stupidity if you have seen (with equal gear) a ret paly down a demo a drood or priest, if you have seen a ret pally maintaining dps and mana in pve during a fight compared to for exemple to a shaman you MUST give their contact i need to talk to them when will it be that we will see a real class equilibrium in this game? please before it is too late and you end up only with newcomers comming to see what was this monument called wow like a historical sit seeing....

    wait...so Haunt heals for 200% of damage. Lemme get this straight, Haunt turns mana into damage into health (a lot of it), Life tap turns health into mana...which gets fed into Haunt. I'm a freakin warlock and I think that's OP
