Cutting Edge Guilds Do Not Balance the Game (Source)
I'm not sure we could ever nail the balance of the game so perfectly that even the most cutting edge raiding guilds would bring the player not the class. But these guilds are so selective in who they bring and train their guys so much that they can make an assumption (which most of our guilds can't make), which is that all of their players are very, very good.
I know of guilds that have people respec tradeskills for certain encounters (or at least did in BC). That's kind of at a level beyond whether shamans and death knights bring the same buffs, or whether warriors and paladins can both tank the same boss.

My point was more that we care about stats an awful lot -- they are one of our most powerful tools in making balance adjustments.
But...
You can't make them into more than they are. They are a tool in your box, not the only thing that matters. You can't let the incoming numbers alone dictate changes. Anything from current bugs to errors in reporting tools to players selectively removing data in order to make a point can get in the way of the numbers reflecting reality.
There was a post yesterday showing a druid doing 11,000 dps or something on Patch and a rogue posted that as an illustration that rogues need a buff. Um....
Ebon Plague (Source)
We are aware of a few cases in which this is happening. While we don't want the debuff to stack, we don't want anyone to get cheesed out of their disease multipliers either. We'll fix it.
In the mean time, maybe people will actually try the other two DK trees. :)
Judgement Failing Issue (Source)
It looks like Blizzard could use your help. If you have any ideas then try to reproduce this and send them a bug report!
We are trying to track this issue (Judgements sometimes failing) down. We aren't sure what is causing this and we can't come up with a situation that causes it reliably so we can figure out what's happening. More information from players about what situations seem to reproduce the bug will be more helpful than just posting "still happening" over and over. Yes, we know it is still happening. We just don't know why.

Heroic: You Don't Have An Eternity
Premonition of Alleria-US recently completed the Heroic: You Don't Have An Eternity achievement by defeating Malygos within 5 minutes.
Malygos killed in sub 5 minutes for the Heroic achievement, talk about tightly tuned! Highly recommended for guilds to try this - it's very apparent that when Blizzard wants things to be tuned exactly, they playtest exceptionally well.
