I accidentally typed 5% in the first sentence of the previous post rather than 3%, and I see no way to edit... Oh well, you get the point.

  • Wed, Oct 22 2008 11:35 AM ()

Yes, I can read, and I can do math. Whereas before VE would total 25%, the new 'improved' VE adds 67% of the 5%, meaning it has been nerfed to 5%, which is 20% of what it used to be, and has no effect on the amount it heals yourself since 15% + 2/3 of 15% is still 25%. It's all in the wording. Old version - Increases the percentage healed by VE by 5/10% New version - Increases the healing received by VE by 33/67% Maybe you should learn some reading comprehension and actually play the class before attempting to insult someones intelligence. Just to further prove my point here's a screenshot of the tooltip on the new VE with improved taken from the current PTR - http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/1695/venerffh3.jpg

Ret pallys DPS was based on skill before. A skillful player COULD make a ret pally nuke. Now it's become the childs class, anyone can play it even my 9 year old neice. That is the problem. I keep hearing pallys are balanced for level 80, but we still have a month left until we can even begin to level to 80. They've become the deciding factor in pvp of all forms (bgs, arenas, world pvp) it's extremely unfair.

  • Tue, Oct 21 2008 11:40 AM ()

this is sad... for years ppl made of RET pallys and now the 1 chance you guys can't do it you whine bout it(wow how sad can you get)

maybe DethShayde and Dragonbird weren't paying attention. They clearly forgot about the additional 67% healing added to to the 3% making 70% healed to party members from shadow damage on that target. #Improved Vampiric Embrace - Now increases the healing received from Vampiric Embrace by 33/67%. Up from 5/10%. Please tell me you guys know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. So yes, shadow priests can do a lot of damage and healing at the same time.

  • Tue, Oct 21 2008 9:22 AM ()

Agree DethShayde!! Total waste of having a Priest class at all now... :-( 3 years down the drain..

  • Tue, Oct 21 2008 7:55 AM ()

I disagree about priests being screwed, I have a noticed alot of subtle differences that make the sp more then just a mage wannabe. I was a discipline priest before the patch but changed to sp in order to get my pvp gear. I feel sorry for the locks, because the skilled ones were easily top of the food chain, now it seems affliction is the way to go. Also I noticed that when an epic Lock buddy of mine and my Shadow Priest work together the bonus's to damage, heals etc are alot better then since the patch. It's my opinion Blizzard is tweaking wow for more cooperative play, which isn't a bad thing. By making different classes combine they're skills to be more effictive will surly tick off people that are used to dominating solo, I think it will make wow more interesting and interactive then every before. Just my thoughts

After reading all the comments .... has anyone really considered that Blizzard does NOT read these comments??? Why not post these on their website so the developers could see the problems they may or may not have thought about. I agree about some issues with my priest and pally. I haven't played my hunter for a long while so look at that at a later time. However I believe that blizzard is trying to get rid of the unused clutter in the game by revamping. Even in MMO's rules have to change for good or bad. They may have not said why, but there I think they have a pretty good idea where they are taking the game.

    # Improved Vampiric Embrace - Now increases the healing received from Vampiric Embrace by 33/67%. Up from 5/10%. # Vampiric Embrace - Changed to allow you to be healed for 15% and other party members to be healed for 3% of any Shadow spell damage you deal. Dear Blizzard, thank you so much for turning my class into a lesser version of a mage (which is already a lesser version of a warlock) that will no longer serve any purpose in a group with this blatant, overreaching and unnecessary group PVE nerf. You've already screwed VT over, I guess it was asking too much to let VE heal people with 20k HP for more than 50HP per tick of Mind Flay... You can take our damage increase and shove it up your ass. The point of shadow priest is the utility. Anybody who rolled shadow priest for raw DPS is a moron. If I wanted a mage, I would of been playing a mage. Instead I will now simply cancel my account rather than re-roll, and spend the $40 that was going towards my pre-order of Wrath to play Warhammer with my (literally) 30 other friends who already left 2 months ago. Have fun everyone. Blizzard is friggin clueless. They may as well remove both Shadow and Holy from the priest class since Discipline is now God-like anyway for both damage and healing.

I believe they already hotfixed the pally's dps. They converted divine storm from being holy damage to being physical damage. Which means that it can be mitigated with armor/resilience.

  • Mon, Oct 20 2008 9:38 AM ()

The 3.03 patch isn't out yet is it? So maybe they'll nerf the ret pallies. And at crushie- Yes, they are doing what every other DPS class does, except they do it better, have spells to heal, they have bubbles, and they have plate mail. If any blizzard employee knows what their doing they'll fix this soon enough, but we probably will have to wait a while. Way to hand buckle under for your competition (warhammer), blizzard!

You know, everyone is crying about OP Ret Pally this or that, but does it nip you in the rear so hard that Ret Pally Pally is now doing what nasty DPS classes have been the whole time? Also, how does anyone expect Blizzard to make all classes equal? That's the goodness, DIVERSITY! Of course a single class can't be superman, then that would be way uncool! Just play the game people... Less QQ more Pew Pew ;)

Its impossible to Balance PvP and PvE, and Blizzard should stop even trying. They've already made some things work differently PvP vs. PvE, they should finish the job and do it with everything.

  • Sun, Oct 19 2008 3:36 PM ()

Blizzard is getting lazy. I saw a 64 lock own 2 70s last night. I guess those two lvl 70s are supposed to say, "oh well, once we hit level 80, it will be balanced" amirite?

Good Going on the Arms Warriors... We are already low on Dmg since the new patch and they choice to nerf us? the weakest Spec in the game Damage wise, and Survivability wise in PvP. now we need 2 healers to baby sit us to be even able to play -.-

  • Sun, Oct 19 2008 10:02 AM ()

you guys all need to remember... these changes are being made from testing as level 80, not level 70. So things should tend to get better for everyone in time. Only QQ once you hit lv80 in Wrath and its still bad

  • Sun, Oct 19 2008 7:31 AM ()

    WoW makes me sad lately...

  • Sun, Oct 19 2008 3:52 AM ()

Wow big Sudden Death nurf. Rightfully so I suppose; but how were they so far off on the desired proc rate after such a long Beta? O_o

there's no question that there are retards at Blizzard...instead of nerfing ret pallys they OP them even more...the most powerfull class in the game right now is the paladin...which is pathetic
