It is, first and foremost, PR.

Hopefully it'll be as good as it sounds, the "free spell damage for healers" does sound neat.

As a case in point. My paladin is a Master Swordsmith. He has leveled his ability to obtain all the plans to be learned from the Master Trainer in Shattrath. However any item he makes is BoP and all the swords are clearly for the warrior class. Nothing for a paladin class and there are no sockets to modify these items for a paladin. They are a couple swords that would be good for my rogue but since they are BoP and not socketable its pretty much moot. Why aren't staves smithable items the caster class and druids certainly would benefit from a profession like smithing if there was a option. And be even more appealing if they had sockets.

But they penalize the hybrids who have to spend 3x the time and dkp gathering 3 sets of gear, because while the raid might need an off-tank tonight; it may only need an off-healer next week.

Players should be able to focus on what they like, with both choices offering equal but different progression."

Does this mean that there will be a means to repair without money (which requires PvE)?
or that PvP items (including water) won't have ANY money cost anymore?

"Free spell damage for healers."

Its really about time. Blizzards largest mistake was seperating +Holy/+Nature from +Healing. If Holy priests got all their +Healing from +Holy ... they wouldn't be as much a joke because those smite would hurt like hell too. Same for Druids , Paladins, and Shaman.

"They're looking into reworking Spirit for the expansion, possibly by adding in a secondary effect to make it desirable by all classes, not just Priests."

Lol, Spirit. Poor priests are the only ones with Talents built around it.

Blizz has followed up on most of their statements of "We're looking into it" or "We would like to...", at least eventually.

I really Really REALLY hope they finally understand what the profession system should be! I feel Xylan's pain about BS (I'm a hammersmith holy paladin). It was great and useful before BC (assuming you spent the insane time to grind the rep to get the patterns), but now I've gotten all three useful items from it from my GM and have used it exclusively for sharpening stones since.

You need to be able to make GOOD items that are at LEAST equivalent to quest rewards, considering how expensive stuff is to make.

So... what does "Free spell damage for healers" even mean? It sounds good, but makes absolutely no sense to me...

They really need to look into a way to give a balanced version of these procs to both classes or have specific melee-weapon enchants, that can ONLY proc on ranged or feral attacks.

Can also see a need to make sure its healers only who get the Healing converted to Dmg/Healing, otherwise we'll see Mages rolling on an obvious Healing item because its +heal has more damage than their +dmg items.
