i guess the whole day. Jan 16. maybe the whole week? just guessing... But i think that would be the best idea, couse there's a lot of ppl who can't get the TBC retail at Jan 16. and Blizz need to think to those customers eather.

TBH if blizz would be smart they should have added into 2.0.1 patch so that everybody woudl finish off the required stuff for the opening and the NPC's will just entertain + keep the player busy till TBC hits and then the huge opening will take place, because Blizzard said that players can step thru the Dark Portal without completing the World event it's a bit silly to have a Dark Portal opening world event at the same time :S but maybe it's done this way for custumers who couldn't get their copy of TBC that day due to it was sold out .... can't wait to see =D

As a Magtheridon-EU inhabitant i've been at the opening of the gates and we were the 2nd realm in EU to open the gates (and fastest EU realm) so the server was crowded with lvl1's and ppl moving to Silithus it crashed about 40-50 times in just a few hours. A few thousand ppl were waiting for Kungen (the keyholder) to open the gate.. Finally Kungen dindt open the gate until somewhere secretly arranged at night.. \o/

Same goes for the Questline for the opening of the AQ gate that has a part of Dragon killing in Moonglade.. atleast 160 ~ 200 raid-geared ppl where there to kill it.. crashed the server multiple times and extremly laggy..

Let's hope this kind of stuff improves!
