Season 3 causes queues

Thundgot, one of Blizzard's European CMs, is reporting that due to the one-two punch of patch 2.3 and Arena Season 3, more people than usual are logging on, resulting in queues on many realms that don't usually have them. So season two is over, and season queue begins (sorry, couldn't resist). I don't know if the North American realms are also supposed to be having queues; none of my regular ones have been, but I tend to play at off-peak times, so perhaps I wouldn't have seen them anyway. Who's been seeing queues, where are you, and how bad have they been?

Blizzard says they're holding off on doing anything about the queues, be it free transfers or new realms, but they promise that they're "closely monitoring" things, and if this proves to be more than a transient thing, measures will be taken, as usual. I remember back in the pre-BC days, when most realms had queues most of the time...that was no fun. But it seems that Blizz have learned from that, since I haven't ever faced anything that bad since BC launched.Read|Permalink|Email this|LinkingBlogs|Comments

Been having lots of bad queues on Tichondrius. However, there has been an upsurge in transfers, which i believe is why we are getting queues. And most likely because of Season 3. Tich is known as a very competitive pvp realm so that could be why. I find it ridiculous though, because the realm was already high in population, yet Blizzard allowed the transfers. All about the money eh?

Oddly enough, Twisting Nether-US went from a Medium Population realm to High Population, with daily queues since 2.3. They're especially bad on Sunday's, where average latency is also drastically increased.

To be honest, I'm not sure why Twisting Nether became so popular, as it's an RP-PvP realm, and is a ways behind the non-RP realms in PvE progression and isn't known for it's PvP prowess either. Hopefully, things settle down soon after the masses stop logging on for AV farming, etc

The queue's have been absolutely horrible for me and some of my friends. Our server is Illidan, and as you may know, it's one of those servers that are always full. Yesterday I had to wait in a queue being #759... the wait time was 35 minutes. Just the day before I had to wait in one at number 890.... I waited an HOUR to get on.

I find it is absolutely ridiculous, especially since I know there are others way behind me. I'm paying for this game, yet I can't even play when I'd like. Some of my friends are only allowed to come on a limited time a day, and the queue eats it all.

I hope it dies down soon, that or Blizzard does something about it, because I'm sure I'm not the only one annoyed by it.

I haven't seen any queues on Coilfang-US yet. Though I have noticed a great increase in BG's resulting in shorter wait times. I guess everyone's grinding honor for their S1 gear.

I was on a WoW hiatus while my computer was being repaired and came back the Saturday after 2.3 hit. Since then, I haven't been able to log onto Tichondrius after 9-10pm EST without a minimum of a 10 minute wait, sometimes half an hour. Tichondrius is truly ridiculous, and season 3 is only exacerbating the issue.
