Hope for STO

Star Trek Online has had a shakey past indeed and it looked like the title may been set for a lengthy shelving. At GDC this year, Cryptic Studios, the guys tipped to have taken over the IP, stated they were working on a secret sci-fi project and it seems that Star Trek Online isn't dead in the water.

The Star Trek Online home page, formerly used by Perpetual to distributed dev blogs and news and later, to display the Star Trek Online logo and nothing more, has changed shape to reveal a new take on the STO logo as well as the prophetic words, "coming soon."

Coming soon? In MMo languages this could mean a whole host of things, but E3 is just around the corner. Perhaps a certain game studio are planning to unveil a certain sci-fi title at a certain gaming expo? We'll just have to wait and see.

hmm, has www.perpetual.com been hacked, or is it supposed to be totally blank... It has a "index.html" page with no content *at all*

Well the company (Pereptual) has official closed its doors so it is no surprise that its website has been taken down.

The startrekonline.com address is owned by CBS Paramount and will have been transferred over to the new devs of STO. It is not linked owned by Perpetual and thus won't be effected by the companies liquidation.
