Full credit goes to Lenja. Original work found at:
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/9804/
Only changes listed below:
1. Added a check for minimap ping to make sure it is in Tempest Keep (cuts down on spam).
2. Toned down the alpha on the blue screen (0.2 instead of 0.4)
3. Added a slash command to remove the blue screen entirely, while keeping the bomb information. (/vra blue off)
4. Band-aid on the GetDir function (thanks Allythepally)
5. Major overhaul due to VR changes in 2.4 that will be fixed once 2.4.2 does live.
Updated the spell ID to match the cast (I hope). I'm no longer raiding as much, so I am unable to test it.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

bluesprite83 saidUnfortunately, it appears that VR *still* doesn't do what he is supposed to. No combat log messages at all for the actual cast :(
2.4.3 or WotLK? *sigh*

Rothin saidWhen I sent you the log last night, I was afraid it wasn't in there. I had tried to look through it myself and only saw those three events. Void Reaver is certainly still killable without this addon, but it is ridiculous that Blizzard can't fix the combat log properly to show who he is targeting with the ability as it should.
Maybe next patch. I'll send you a new combat log when/if they ever try to fix it again.

Ugljesa saidFrom what I've seen, the message for him launching a bolt at someone is: "$n is afflicted by Arcane Orb". I first thought that meant the orb is hitting the target (might be, dunno), but I've checked and the damage from the orb came a few messages later (I'd think the silence debuff and the damage would come right after eachother?).
Btw, I still think it's INCREDIBLY stupid of Blizzard to make him not change targets, if you make a boss's ability only visible through combat log (don't try and mention graphics, I've seen an orb explode before it reaches the ground about 500 times) and not make him change targets to attack, you're basically saying it's mandatory to have a combatlog-reading add on to do a boss fight. Go figure.
One question. With 2.4's changes to combat log, there is now an option to filter it. Would it be possible to make a filter through Blizzard's default settings that would only let Arcane orb messsages go through? Cause if there's an easy way to do that, it's a decent workaround, just have the tank shout out the orbs.

bluesprite83 saidAs it is the only messages that are sent to the combat log through the "COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED" event are the following:
1. damage from the orb
2. silence debuff applied
3. silence debuff removed
There is supposed to be a 4th message of "Void Reaver casts Arcane Orb at (player name)." However, there is not. Without a message like this, or the targeting system he previously had, there is nothing to warn you except a giant glowy ball that sometimes shows up.

Rothin saidWe should have a Tempest Keep raid tonight, so we'll make sure to stop in on Void Reaver for a few rounds and I'll send you a copy of my Combat log so we can hopefully get this fixed for the community.

bluesprite83 saidSorry everyone, but I am currently taking a break from the game (and especially the raiding scene). So, I don't have any means of testing the fixes I can make for this addon. If you can do the fight and type /combatlog beforehand, send me the file called "WoWCombatLog.txt" in the "...\World of Warcraft\Logs" directory to bluesprite_83@hotmail.com and I will do my best to fix it asap.
As stated above, I won't be able to test the fixes, but it *should* work.
-Aranis
P.S. It seems that DBM is having similar issues with VR, which may mean that Blizzard broke him again. If you have a log send it to tanadu@gmail.com as well.

bluesprite83 saidDue to changes to the Void Reaver encounter (he no longer targets), and the fact Blizzard forgot to add some kind of notification of an incoming orb, this addon does not work in 2.4.0. As soon as they resolve the issues I will write up a new version (I have half the coding done).
Sorry for the delay.

Fiyuhstorm saidwell, while good changes, doesnt it seem kinda impertanant to just go and make your own version of the addon while the original one is still offically working and being developed still? I mean i would of just tried helping Lenja change his/hers. But thats just my thoughts.

bluesprite83 saidWell, I did offer suggestions (and you may note the replies on her addon's page), but I had several guild members wanting changes to the addon, so I made a temporary fix for them. This is by no means an independent addon that is a copy of Lenja's, it is a filler to stop my guild's complaint list.
So, I'm not "making my own version," I am posting a couple bug fixes/features that my friends wanted as well as helping Lenja change those things.
