EngBags Description
EngBags is an AIOI with autosorting fully configurable. It separate your items as you wish between 9 dynamic bars of items. The sorting is made using categories, which you can edit. These categories can do full text search on item tooltips, which mean you can make a category that will include all items wich tooltip contain "Increases damage and healing". With this you can assing that category into bar 3 and you will have all dps equip items in that bar. That's an example, but you can do what you want with this in means of sorting.
EngBags come with predefined categories that will bring you sorting out of the box, at least in english :) It also sort the empty bag slots for diferent bag types.
Also it include the same for the bank part, and offline bank view for your character and your alts.
Yes, it's not ace2, but that's pointless because when you used it, you can't live without it. (Everyone that used it told me the same)
Other features:
- Item search by name simultaneously at inventory and bank if it's open.
- Hilight items from a bag.
- Enable / Disable sorting.
- Lots of more options. Download it and see yourself :P

Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

UniRing saidWell, i discontinued this addon because from the version 2.26 (wow 2.4) of ArkInventory it's almost the same and ArkInventory is actually more optimized and functional that this one.
Well, bye bye EngBags, we will remember you :P

SilverTsunami saidIs there a way to hide the normal backpack icons? I know you can hide the added bag icons, but I'm talking specifically about the backpack ones. While playing my hunter, it'd be nice to have just the empty quiver slots showing, and currently (as far as I can tell) there is no way to do so.
Also, would there be a way in the future to just disable all icons, but have the empty quiver slots be a different color? Or highlighted? Kind of like what OneBag does.
Thanks!

samaros saidIs there anyone that has a fix for the submenu bug? The 2 workarounds hardly ever work for me, and it takes too much time if I want to setup my entire inventory from scratch.

sag_ich_nicht saidIt seems the FluidFrames hooking is unintentionally causing tainting of the friendsframe/socialframe, I'll post more once I found out more about it.

sag_ich_nicht saidI have uploaded a fixed version of hooks.lua that prevents taint otherwise caused by the hook to FluidFrames if FluidFrames is active, thanks & credits to AnduinLothar aka KarlKFI for checking the code and providing me with a proper version of it:
http://loliserv.org/~afora/hooks.lua
I suggest everyone using EngBags in coherence with FluidFrames replace their hooks.lua with this version, as the current implementation is causing tainting of the socialframe and quite a few other frames.

sag_ich_nicht saidFollowup:
There seems to be another bug in EngBags that causes it to break the Raiddropdown menus, effectively hiding the "Promote to Main Tank" and "Promote to Main Assist" buttons in the player dropdown menus.
I haven't been able to isolate from where in the code this is coming, but it's rather annoying.

Lufunpsy saidThe submenu issue has to do with the triangular arrow icon on the menu itself. For whatever reason it will cause the sub-menu to close, which is annoying I know. There are two workarounds for this to ensure you'll always get the menu open. One Mishoga has already mentioned. push your bag window to the right side of the UI. This simply forces the submenues to open up to left of parent menu avoiding the icon. The other method is to have your mouse between the icon and the edge of the parent menu until you get the submenu you need opened. This avoids mousing over the icon, but its a bit of a pain as it can cause the parent menu to close if you stray from the boundries.

Mishoga saidI had that problem too, but found a quick fix for it! Drag your entire bag window to either side of your screen, and try it. You should have no problems doing it then =)

d3nalii saiddavedontmind -- I have that problem, too ... I find it annoying, but with practice, its do-able. I think whats happening is that the 'level' of the submenus is less than that of the items in the bag that you're possibly mousingOver.
Is it possible to give the submenus a higher 'level' ... (sorry, i'm at a loss for the proper code lingo for the 'level' ... is it stratus? status? hehe)
otherwise, LOVE this addon, and thank you SO much for maintaining it and updating it!
I hope this update fixes my problem of not being able to mouseOver items in my bank. The tooltip pops up, but then disappears SO quickly ... speed-reading4tw!
thanks again!

davedontmind saidI have a problem when using any of EngBag's right-click menus.
If the menu has sub-menus, then the sub-menu tends to disappear before i can get the mouse pointer on it - i move the mouse down the main menu to an item with a sub-menu (and a yellow arrow), then move my mouse to the right. By the time the pointer reaches the yellow arrow, the sub-menu disappears...
The only way I can get to the sub-menu is to move my cursor to the *left*, all around the main menu, and creeep up on the sub-menu from behind...
It makes it rather tedious to change things, as you can probably imagine.

davedontmind saidAdditionally, since I upgraded from 2.0.8-7 to 2.3-28, I have lost the ability to alt-left-click items in my bag to automatically add them to the AH window.
I'm not sure which addon provides this functionality in the fist place, but it's so very very useful that being without it is a pain. I have verified that it's EngBags stopping the alt-left-click from working by simply disabling just EngBags (at which point alt-left-click works fine again). This used to work fine in the older versions of EngBags, but now the AH window correctly switches to the Auctions pane and makes the sound of the item being dropped in the window, but the item simply doesn't appear.
