- About SpamSentry - Anti goldspam
SpamSentry by Anea
This addon stops goldspam messages from showing. You can use a one-click report system to create a GM-ticket for the caught spammers. Both spammers and bots can be reported manually as well.
Version 20080525 - Updated French localisation - SpamSentry icon now turns red when spam has been found - Fixed small bug with titanpanel - Updated filters
Installation:
- Unzip the file into your 'Interface/Addons' folder.
Features:
- Detects multi-message spam
- Customizable notification
- FuBar and Titan support
- Manual reporting of players you suspect to be a goldseller / bot / violating naming rules
- Report-button in mailframe to report spam send to you by in-game mail
- Seperate reportlists are maintained for each realm you play on
- And many more
Use:
- Type /sentry for options, or right-click the minimap/fubar/titan icon
- right-click a name and select "Report spam" to manually add that player to the spamreportlist.
How to help: This addon is as good as the feedback it gets. Please inform me when spam got through, or when a legitimate message got blocked.
- If a spam-message isn't recognised:
- Report the spammer by right-clicking the name in the chat window and selecting "Report Spam" - Type /sentry spam feedback <name of the spammer> - Send me a PM with the code sequence
- If you encounter a false positive:
- Click the message in SpamSentry main-window - Send me a PM containing that message

Immoliate saidAny chance of an auto-report feature for gold spam events (a bit like BadBoy's)? I've been using SpamSentry for as long as I can remember (back in the days when GM tickets had to be raised). In the 1000+ spam events spamsentry has captured I've yet to see a single false positive (SpamSentry's excellent filters I guess).
It would also be handy if spamsentry used a mod channel to coordinate blocking of currently active spammers, allowing spamsentry users to (optionally?) temporarily auto-ignore spammers before ever receiving any spam (for say 15 minutes to minimise the impact of any unlikely false positives).
Keep up the good work :)

gamemaniak saidLately, gold spammers found a new way to bypass my SpamSentry addon:
they whisper you "hey" first, then there is a long pause, then ask you if you want to buy gold but in a more friendly way than normal. But there is no way to manually add someone to my spamlist. Can you add such a feature, or did I overlook such a feature already present? Since I also use an addon(ForgottenChat) to arrange my whipers, I cannot right click on his name to report him either.

apyss saidHello Burnin,
That's actually a feature of the Blizzard client, not SpamSentry. When you report someone to Blizzard that person and all other characters from the same account will be ignored by the client for the rest of your session.

BurninFingerTipz saidSeems when I report someone for spamming, that's the last I ever hear from them...
I've ran into situations, where I've reported someone to speaking crude, then go to PST, they respond, but I cannot see what they are saying... I've had them log on alts to tell me, this... So, how can I remove players from this, block list? I can't see to figure this out.
(They aren't blocked by the ignore list, nor can I receive their messages when I disable the mod (via FuBar) in-game (without restarting), and no other mods that control spam, or ignoring people.)

Drakma saidHi Anea,
Is it possible for you to update the channels for French language please ?
You have to correct a few words :
"cannaux" with "canaux",
"recherchegroupe" with "RechercheDeGroupe",
"recrutementguilde" with "RecrutementDeGuilde",
"counters" with "Compteurs",
"ignore by level" with "ignorer par niveau",
and "ignore party invite" with "ignorer le groupage sauvage".
Thanks for your great work !

apyss saidThere we go; second update of the day, again with a fix in WhoLib. This should sort out the line 296-problem, and hopefully restore peace and quiet on the world of Azeroth :)

apyss said@Bergoth & Gruffness:
If you get a script-error indicating line 294 of WhoLib you're most likely using another addon that has WhoLib embedded. Unfortunately WhoLib has versioning-issues which cause the error. There are two ways to solve the problem:
- Wait for updates of your addon(s)
- Manually copy the WhoLib from SpamSentry to all relevant addons
