About the User Interface
At some point, you may have realized that within the myriad of mod, bag, button and raid windows... your viewing space is a little hole somewhere in the middle. And while there are other interface mods out there that will reduce your interface to nothing but a pinhole, you cant help but wish there was an interface that just fit WoW in the first place. Built from scratch, SpartanUI was designed to free your screen, and unlike other mods, it looks like it actually belongs to the World of Warcraft.
Version 2.0 Public Beta is finally released! Be aware that as a public beta, this release is not gauranteed to be perfect, however, pending any issues, this will be the official 2.0 copy. Check SpartanUI.com for up-to-date release notes and info!

Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Nrot saidGreat addon Ansu!
Overall I love the UI, I have a few issues though. The biggest one is I don't like how the bags, talents, and other buttons are half covered when my mouse is not hovering over them (same with the pet bar), is there a way to make them show fully all the time?
My second issue is that none of my dots/debuffs/etc. show up in combat on the mob or enemy player. My own buffs (and debuffs) show up fine, and the buffs of the mob/player that they gave to themselves, but none of mine show. When I disable SpartanUI they appear normally; is there any way to fix this?
I also have an issue where if I'm in a party, their bars cover up the chat log on the left hand side. What I've been doing is just moving the chat box out of the way when I'm in a party, but it's annoying to have to move it all the time and I really like my chat box in that part of the screen. Is there a way to have the chat box automatically adjust itself vertically when I'm in a party?
My last issue is just a minor gripe, I'd like to scale down the overall size of the UI, to where is doesn't take up as much visual real estate on the bottom part of my screen. If there's a scalling option that I haven't come across please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Preference saidOk, this UI is awesome! I love it, although I don't like the buffs/debuffs screen. That's the reason why I want to get the player/target/target of target screen away, so I can replace the party, player and target frame with x-perl. On that way I can easily see the buffs and debuffs.
Does anyone know how to remove the player, target and target of target frame?

Ghost43299 saidI have downloaded this UI multiple times over the past week; all I can say is that I love the simplicity and the look of the interface, but I'm consistently having the lock-up problem that so many others seem to also be experiencing. I just finished deleting all of my addons to see if they were negatively effecting the SpartanUI performance, but as soon as I reloaded the game and scrolled my mouse over the Rep Bar the game locked up yet again. Bottom line is I"m not touching this again until post-beta. Hopefully that won't be extremely long because this interface has tons of potential.

tecbuilder saidI just downloaded the latest version and my screen res is 1440x900 and I cannot get the ui to scale. Based on the pictures of what I've seen for this resolution, I don't have any where near the space at the bottom as the picture does. I have disabled all mods except for spartanui and bartendar3 and nothing worked. The program also locked up multiple times.

cherann saidDownloaded this mod recently and am EXTREMELY impressed. I love the slim profile and have so much more room on my screen for actual viewing. I enjoy the artistic way the UI looks (very slick) and appreciate how the space is utilized so well. Thank you for making this mod. I highly enjoy it :)

Magarita saidWell, I am not Ansu (obviously) and I do not know how to make add ons, but I will post solutions to problems I have figured out for myself.
1: Bartender seems to have been altered and catered to fit SUI, adding bars jacks up SUI, I personally downloaded other add ons to help me out (Z Hunter, I am a hunter, it works great)
2: Buffs and Debuffs, very simple, download another buff add on, again as a hunter I use Karthus’s Hunter Timers and as a hunter it covers all my basics.
3: Commands, the only commands I was able to find out (I found out by asking or simply playing around)
/sui effects vignette film
play with it, you will see what it does, type it again to reset it
/sui party on
/sui party off
Toggles your party display, disable it and use another party add on if it bugs you that much, I personally love SUI's party display and now have issues with WoW's party display :P
Much luck and I hope this helps

lelanen saidI love how this simplifies the screen and adds a ton of buttons. I WAS so excited about the look and simplicity of this UI... Unfortunately I can't figure out how to actually lock the buttons in place. I did the obvious and checked the corresponding box but that did NOT work. If someone can't clue me in on how to fix this I'd have to agree with the comment below about this addon being useless. No one wants to rearrange after entering or leaving every instance or portal. Can anyone help or is this the most annoying bug ever?

StrifeCUK saidAs a fan of this UI I have made a few small updates to this.
Improved the debuffs on the target bar to show more than 3
Improved the buffs on the target bar.
Reduced cpu usage
I have zipped the lua file and linked it at http://healbot.alturl.com/
Please note: I have no intention of taking on this addon, I hope the Author returns soon.

K4ss3r saidThe UI looks great and has some nice features such as the mana/health bar animations, Experience & reputation bars and it's super easy to set up. However, the lack of options really puts me off. I'd like to be able to modify my UI a bit more. Also, it's a bit too small for my taste - Taller would perhaps make it better?
The fact that DoTs doesn't show really killed it for me, when playing my Warlock.
Even with a buffbar addon, it didn't feel as easy to keep track of the DoTs as with X-perl unitframes. If some of these functions are to be installed in this addon package, I'm surely considering using it again.
Edit: I've gotten Necrosis to take care of DoTs for me now, should be fine. Still, it'll take some time getting used to this UI, especially the layout and tinyness.
