Baud Auction modifies Blizzard's auction interface so it can display and sort multiple pages of items at once.
Feature List
- Multiple pages can be displayed and sorted at once.
- Auction items also display the price per unit.
- Auction frame is made movable.
- Box for entering in the per unit price when creating an auction, aswell as a check box for keeping the buyout price the same as the starting price.
- Default auction posting time set to 48 hours.
Additional Info
- A blue asterisk beside a bid means the item had a bid already placed on it, and a purple one means you have the highest bid.
- When the highlight on an item appears blue, that means the item is not on the current page, and Baud Auction will switch to the appropriate page when possible.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

stqn saidIt's better now! Actually better than before patch 2.4, because back then I could get an informant tooltip that didn't belong to the item being mouse-overed (if it belonged to a page that wasn't the currently selected one.)
Now there is no informant tooltip at all when the item doesn't belong to the current page, which is better.
There's still an error when I mouse-over the icon of an item that doesn't belong to the current page, then click on it:
Blizzard_AuctionUI.lua:1391: GameToolTip:SetOwner(): Can't set owner to self.
Coming from BaudAuction.lua:475.
(I can't copy-paste the error so I shortened it a bit)
But I can definitely live with that; I just have to click on the item's name and not on its icon and everything's fine.

stqn saidThanks for removing the error, but unfortunately I absolutely need informant's tooltip too, to have disenchant information on objects... And I also absolutely need Baud Auction! :p So it would be great if you found a way to fix this error without removing informant's tooltip.
(I had a look at Blizzard's lua code and at yours, but couldn't figure out what the exact problem was...)

Baudzila saidWith the way Blizzard coded that function, it was very awkward to use it in my addon. I got it to work using some workarounds though. I don't have Informant installed on my machine, but it should work with any tooltips of items on the selected page. You may have to click on an item to select the page it is on.

But you removed the calling of the parent event of the frame (the one, that causes the error, because Bliz put their "price per unit").
And now "Informant" won't work on the tooltip in the AH list.
Is there a way to get it both together? "Informant" working like before and still without the error messages?

Miklos saidI found out that Baud Auction and Wowecon doesn't work well together due to wowecon's feature of remembering last auction price of a given item.
Would it be possible for you to do a work-around so it functions with wowecon?

P.S. If you could add the functionality of IgorsMassAuction (mass auctioning, alt-click item to add them to the auction spot) I'd be VERY happy and I could just use one addon for my auction needs - Baud Auction :)

Would appreciate e.g. an alt-click to put an item to the auction window instead of having to drag it all the way, and a similar search feature would be nice too. To speed things up a bit. :P
And suddenly i would be able to remove 2-3 well known addons, wich btw use much more memory then yours (too much imo), and have them all-in-one in Baud Auction.

Baudzila saidThe duplicate listings issue is a difficult issue to solve 100%, but it can certainly be improved. I'm not sure where I'd put the buyout / unit field for the new auction tab, since there isn't really room, but I'll see if I can come up with something. Also, the bid/unit and bo/unit columns are very important, since they give you a better idea of what's a good deal when there's different sized stacks of items for sale.

The bug is, when you buyout an item, it will shift the other items in the list up by one, but the last item in the list does not get cleared after its shifted, and appears as double until you do a new search.
My suggestion is for the new auction tab; I would like to see a buyout/unit field similar to the current bid/unit one.
