Thanks for the feedback. Should be fixed now.

  • Not a bad little bar, just needs the option to have the menu expand down also instead of just up for those that want it at the top of the screen. And it shouldn't auto lock when you log out and back in. If you have it at the top of the screen and log out when you log back in it's stuck there cuz the menu is up off the top of the screen.

  • getting when getting into the game:

Error: attempt to call global 'RCStartup' (a nil value)
    String: IconHelperFrame:OnLoad
    Count: 1

    v2.31, first time tried.

Testing it, attempted to place an icon on a friendly player not in party (which you can't do). The following error was thrown up:

"IconHelper\\IconHelper.lua:478: attempt to concatenate global 'Unitname' (a nil value)\n<string>:\"*:OnClick\":1: in function <[string \"*:OnClick\"]:1>"

No other icon mod I was testing at the same time (for comparison, to see which was best on CPU/memory usage) threw up an error. Those included LuckyCharms2, RaidMobMarker & Jude.

  • Quote: "...RaidMobMarker suck up CPU time even when they aren't doing anything; not good."

There's a simple explanation for this. IconHelper don't need to track something. Its only call
function to set target on button pressed. RaidMobMarker have sync ability and auto mark
function. So you have to check events. The cost of it is under 0.1% of CPU usage and you
    don't notice this without cpu-tracker.
If you only want a small symbol bar then IconHelper is a best choice. If you want more like
croud control and player assignment to raid/group member then i recommend to check
    RaidMobMarker out.

Np, and yes, v2.32 fixes the problem. Nice work.

And also nice work in the design of this. It is one of the very few mods like this (fast-click raid target markers in a bar) that use no CPU time when you aren't using them/targeting anything.

LuckyCharms2 & RaidMobMarker suck up CPU time even when they aren't doing anything; not good. Jude ( http://files.wowace.com/Jude/Jude.zip ) is like IconHelper in that it properly uses no CPU time when idle. But it has virtually no features other than resizing the bar. So IconHelper seems to be the ticket.

A couple of other issues, though. The "BG Alpha" slider seems to do nothing at all. The other sliders adjust things proprly, but BG Alpha doesn't change the background alpha of the bar or anything else.

Changing the "Toggle Icon-Clear Button" to turn the button on works. But after relogging the same character, it automatically resets to "Hidden". Requiring you to go back into options to change it back after every relog, which is inconvenient.

I looked at the saved variables file(s); you are saving them for individual characters, which is cool. But I wasn't able to tell which of the "IH1=", etc. lines was the one controlling the "Toggle Icon-Clear Button" setting. Nor was I able to tell if the setting is being saved, but not recognized.

Thanks Zidomo. Should be fixed now.

Thanks again Zidomo. The Remove Icon button hide/show settings should be saved between gaming sessions now.
The BG Alpha slider should change the opacity of the Icon Bars background.
