Kinda wondering the same thing. I like the curse updater, but the minion has some great potential.
Thanks!

I haven't heard anything from the "Big Guys" but please don't take that as yes or no; only that us moderators haven't been told one way or the other. I have tried minion, and while it is easier to use than the old updater from WowInterface, the current Beta is very buggy. Give the developer (yes, there is only one) time to iron out the app first.

I would seriously consider subscribing if it meant I only had to use one program to update all my mods.
Just sayin'.

I hope the developer is able to find some help; and that Curse embraces it. :D

As MMOui minion gets its kinks ironed out, we'll be evaluating the feasibility of integration. We don't have an official answer to this question yet.

I am of the opinion that Curse should definitely consider creating a module to attach to the Minion. It has been stated by Shirik (the developer of the Minion application) and Cairenn that Curse could fully control the way that their module works with the Minion (i.e. Throttling downloads to non-premium users, only 1 update at a time for non-premium users, etc...). Source and FAQ IMO there is no reason for 2 great addon websites to work against eachother (although I know there could be revenue issues, etc...) but MOST addon users have to use both sites to update their addons anyway...so what would you really be losing? The gain for both curse and MMOui is a happier customer base with easier access to everything they want as well as most likely an increase in use by the playerbase, as a simple and streamlined updater for addons across both sites hasn't been in existance since the dreaded Wowmatrix (/shudder) and, unlike Wowmatrix, Minion can actually go toward sponsoring your site and the addon developers.
Thanks for the open forum to speak my mind on this issue,
Circuitry

it would be nice to see curse join in on the minion, it does make things easier for gamers and customers, and must say the minion is much easier to use then anything else other than (wowmatrix)

this isn't going to happen. we've already seen curse sack wowmatrix so users are forced to use their own client, which most will admit is a far step down from wowmatrix. minion is an easy to use client like wowmatrix. but since curse won't be able to direct control content seen on the program itself, you bet there won't be a curse module any time soon. i personally use curse to find addons, or the names, then usually download them from another site.

Indeed.
The Curse Client was a good idea at first, but now they've been too blinded from profits, and because of that turned the Client into an unusable piece of crap (unless you pay for Premium, that is...)
In the light of the aforementioned reasons, I can tell you pretty certain that Curse will never make a module that gives people free access to something they'd otherwise have to pay for. Oh the joy of Capitalism...

Curse should at least make a module for mmoui that's available to Curse Premium members. This way they lose nothing in the deal except some development time.

Just posting an update regarding this.
The new v4 client will support addons that update from other sites (aka WoWI). It won't pull a WowMatrix and steal bandwidth but it will let you know when there are updates and provide a mechanism for updating them.

Have you used the minion? It displays adds if your not a premium subscriber. Pretty simple IMO, I am not sure how they handle the procedes from the add services the Minion offers. I do know however that the Minion was developed with full intent on multiple site download function in mind. What burns me up the most about having to use 2 seperate clients is that there is always mods that are availible at both places and the mods are not always updated at the same time in both places so I have one client or the other throwing a fit.
Here is what I do know, Minion works on Java. It features full support for x64 architecture is extremely fast and if (like me) you are a premium subscriber to wowinterface you do not see adds and have access to additional options.
My request to Curse, consider offering a module for Minion at least to premium subscribers.
Thanks

I only have one beef with the curse client and that is since 3.X it has no longer worked through wine so I can not update my addons when in Linux because they use .net pretty heavily. I still pay for membership however because i want to support the site and what it does
And when in windows i can use the client. I think the module if they choose to make one for MMOUI will serve to cater to their Linux users as that is 100% java and java is cross platform
