I use SuperAntiSpyware, AdAware, and Spybot S&D, and found zero hit when I reinstalled the client yesterday. What scanner are you using?

Did you use an official download link or some other unreliable source?

Am using nortons. Yes i downloaded the curse client of the curse website after being forced to because all your download links for addons are broken forcing me to use the client witch i never wanted. By the looks of it, it looks like your trying to sneek spyware onto the computers through the addons via the curse client so the anti-virus and spyware detectors dont pick them up why else would you make every manual down link go to the same web page http://www.curse.com/content/LinkExpired.aspx

Sorry I don't see how they are "forcing you to use the curse client" as the "download links are broken".

Thats one mighty fine Tinfoil hat there buddy. Addons operate in a sandboxed environment interpreted within the wow client. They can no more install spyware as a man can get pregnant or a fish ride a bicycle.

My email addon plan really works. 89 addons. Updating manually every week or so . 8 - 12 minutes

thought people would have learned by now that norton and macfee are just about useless programs for GAMEING computers since they almost always have some wierd usally WRONG problem with most games or programs made to work with games.  yes it has been documented on the net for a while now. I am not saying they are bad programs just not ideal for a gameing setup   CA security center and there programs NOT the whole suite are better for a gameing setup then norton and macfee are 90% of the time..... Just take some time to research your options so that you don't drive your self nuts or others from bad readings.

yeah a addon its self cant put spyware and adware on a computer but the curse client can download them its constantly on with nothing checking it since you gave it full permission to download what it wants when it wants

and to the person who b;lamed nortons the fact that it found them at the time i installed curse and the time i downloaded addons was just pure coinsidence then yeah?  if you know how to use nortons it works just perfect with any game i for one have never had any problem with any game

Anyway, in order for the download link to work, you need to use a decent browser with a decent flash player... the subject was covered more than once but... people prefer to start their own whining thread.

Download link work on all the setup I used (IE 6,7,8, FF3, Chrome), and I use the latest Flash player available from adobe.

Oh my first response had much more smart assiness in it I assure you.

You seem to have a different definition of "broken" and a different opinion of what to do if something is truly broken for you.

About "broken" I don't see having to type a captcha in as broken. It's working fine for me - I can download just fine. While I haven't browsed these forums in but from my cursory search I couldn't see any compliants about not being able to download at all.

See here's what bothers me - you seem to have a problem. But instead of describing it in a little detail and wanting to seek help on it you choose to post some conspiracy laden thread accusing Curse of installing spyware and keyloggers.

But since you insisted on links here's some :

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/talented/download/362552.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/shockandawe/download/362517.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/recount/download/356936.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sexymap/download/354625.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/fubar/download/345930.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/xperl/download/357525.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/quest-helper/download/363472.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/vuhdo/download/363683.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/phh/download/363532.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/clique/download/344726.aspx

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/altoholic/download/352096.aspx

I use Mac OS X 10.5.7 , Safari 4 and a Dynalink 1025w. I do not have flash installed either. For each one of the links above I was able to download just fine. Each and every link I got a captcha , entered it and downloaded the zip. The last 5 links I also repeated the test in Firefox as well. All downloaded and unzipped just fine.

I find it a little strange you ask for me for such extensive proof but we are just supposed to belive you offhand from the report of some program you run once and possibly mis interpreted ?

I do recall there was a post on the wowace forums about a guy who couldn't get the captchas to work. In the thread he was reasonable  & willing to get help to fix his problem.

You're right on this.

I haven't been deeply involved with the Curse Client so I admit to not knowing about their security measures. I do know that with the wow interface client they have a security manager that asks before doing anything and tells you what folders on your computers its getting access to and for what domains.

Thing is I have been at least scanning the forums for the Curse client on here and on the wowace forums. I login to the IRC channel where the authors of the client hang out in regularly. Belive me when I say they have no vested interest in installing spyware on your computer.

Neither would they get away with it for long if it were true. The Curse client has been in development for quite a long time (over a year). If it was actually installing spyware it would of come up way before now.

I think you need to repeat your spyware search with different spyware diagnostic software , on different computers and to have other people confirm your results before you go accusing Curse of giving your spyware.

rogueish please read this Sticky for your issue with Expired Links.  Most likely you version of flash needs to be updated.  Just another note that not having your flash up to date could also be a security problem when you visit other/any websites.
