When i download addons, i put them in the addon folder in my WoW folder. But when i log on my WoW account, the Addon-button isnt showing. Why? and how do I activate them without this button?

MAAAAAAAAAAGIC!!! WTF?!

You have to make sure that the addon file you are trying to install is not the zipped file. The file that you are trying to place inside yr addon folder must contain within it at least the .toc .xml and .lua files. If you have unzipped yr file just be sure that your unzip program didn't made a duplicate folder (a folder that contains your addon folder that contains your toc xml and lua files)

Sorry for my grammar errors and spelling mistakes but i hope that i helped you with your problem.

Don't play on private servers?

There's no "accidentally" playing on private servers btw.

Very true.  You don't trip and fall into a private server.

Also, I doubt it moved your interface folder UNLESS you are on Vista.  New installs of WOTLK will move the interface folder if wow is installed in the default location.  Please consult the stickies.

Well, I use Vista Home Premium 64 Bit, and I only started WoW in February. I started out with the Battle Chest Edition, and have NOT installed WotLK as yet. My game is NOT at the "default location". When you install the game initially, it installs to the "default location", BUT, then it starts patching to get up to the current specs. SOMEWHERE in all that, there will be a screen asking if you want to put your game folder in your "Public" folder so that Blizzard can patch it without you constantly being nagged for permission to continue by Window's. If you choose "Yes", then your ENTIRE game gets moved to your "Public" folder.

So, it's not just new installs of WotLK that'll move your game for you.

I guess about all you can do is put in a new Addons folder, where it's supposed to be, and re-install all your addons.

The big question for me is: How do you "accidently" delete your "Addons" folder? It's not like it's right out there in the open or anything. Usually. Just MY opinion.

OK, sorry, got sidetracked by another post. My bad. :D  The easiest way to add Addons, is with the Curse Client. Downloads AND installs them for you. Barring that: All the addons download in some form of "zip" file. It's just a compression tool. Unzip the addon to the Addons folder for your game, and you SHOULD be good-to-go. Now, this will require you to know where your Addons folder is located the first time you do this, so find it. Everything else that happens with this process is pretty self explanetory.

As far as the Addons button goes: Once you log onto your account, and you are at the character screen, it SHOULD be there in the lower left corner. I know I had it there before I EVER downloaded any addons, but, I've been told some odd things happen with my personal game, so take it for what it's worth.

Hope this helps.

You have to download QuestHelper, then unzip the file that you downloaded (probably called QuestHelper.zip) either to your addons folder or to your desktop and then move it to your addons folder.  Use the Curse client if QH is all you need; it does the job for you and you don't have to wait for people to answer your questions on the forums.

There is absolutely no evidence to support the theory that life is serious.
