Permission error, most likely. Browse your hard drive to your WoW folder, right click it, and make sure you have Admin (read & write) priviliges and that they apply to all subfolders.

If that becomes overly complicated, Cut and Paste the WHOLE World of Warcraft folder to C:\ or another hard drive. You will have to point the short cut to the new location, or delete the old one from your Desktop, right click WoW.exe and select Send To Desktop as a shortcut. Moving the folder to a place that isn't protected by Windows should work.

I think that it would be a great idea to have the current addon's that are in the system, evauated for functionality and use.

There are many addons that are so miniscule in functionality that they are really useless.

If an addon does not function, there could be a million reasons why, a couple reasons are:

Software program conflicts: Older software scripting has changed already in the last 3 years resulting in original macro scripts that are no longer compatable with the general game system software.

Non-support: Production of said Macro or scripts are no longer maintained and as such, the affore mentioned problems have developed or the product does not work due to bad scripting, bad macro development or just plain bad ideas.

Age: Age of WOW or other game scripts have made previous copies of scripts or macros, under different names, likely and redundant.

Addons need to be maintained and updated! If there is little to no activity with an add-on, more than likely there is little or no need for the script other than to learn how to write them, for those of us that are novices to such creative endeavors having bad scripts to learn from is just plain wrong.

With these Ideas, I hope to inspire some comment or feedback to the Add-on issues relative to those many Add-ons that do not function or are of so little use that it would be better to just get rid of the excessively large number of inane add-ons.

Thank you and I would appreciate any possative feedback.

A permissions error is not the same as having admin rights to a folder.

It is still possible for you to be an admin user and not be able to write to a folder because either the folder is locked or has permissions preventing you from doing so.

Find the folder that wow runs out of and watch that Interface/Addons folder for changes

My email addon plan really works. 89 addons. Updating manually every week or so . 8 - 12 minutes
