For some reason, CC has been refusing to download LibStatLogic-1.1 r58 and r59. All other addons are updating just fine. I can download and install it manually and CC then recognizes it as the latest alpha, but CC claims it can't download it itself.

HunterZ,
I do not see LibStaticLogic listed under curse.com addons - either in wow/war search or in the client's search. Naturally then, the client would not be able to install it. If you believe this is in error could you provide a link to the addon where it is hosted on curse.com?

The problem is that Curse doesn't list LibStatLogic on the site, but it appears in the CurseClient.
It SHOULD appear here:
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/libstatlogic-1-1.aspx
As this is the page that the CC directs the browser to when clicking on the "View at Curse.com" link.

jdhas,
The link provided is only to an alpha release, which do not show in the search or curse client "find an addon" tab. The release level is set by the author themselves, until they want to provide a release version.

It's available here, including a psyn link: http://www.wowace.com/addons/libstatlogic-1-1/
It doesn't make sense that it:
- shows up in my list of installed addons (since my release preference is Alpha)
- shows me when updates are available
- shows me changelogs
- allows me to request an update
Yet it then refuses to download and install the update.
I don't see why CC will allow you to download updated WowAce alphas for projects with curse.com release versions that are 6 months old, but not WowAce alphas projects that have no curse.com release version. Further, I also don't see why CC recognizes the latter and gives notification that updates are available, yet doesn't let you update! As a WowAce community tester who has specifically chosen Alpha as my release preference, this seems like a silly limitation/distinction.
Edit: I also find it even more odd since the "alpha-only" library in question is embedded in multiple Release status addons such as RatingBuster, which means that an alpha-only library can be downloaded indirectly via the CC but not directly.
As a tester it is important to be able to update to LibStatLogic-1.1 alphas because they contain a lot of the nuts and bolts that drive RatingBuster, and the WowAce packager does not inject the latest LibStatLogic-1.1 alpha into alpha version downloads of RatingBuster unless the author pushes a new alpha of RatingBuster just to make the packager pick up the latest LibStatLogic-1.1.
You guys are creating an artifically clunky system for developers :(

This summarizes the problem. While the explanation of why the software interprets the information the way it does is appreciated, it should come with an acknowledgement that this is a clumsy and nonsensical way for the program to work. Discarding valuable feedback with a partial explanation of why the problem is a problem is a good way to discourage people from coming here and leaving feedback in the first place.

HunterZ, Sevenfold,
The default behavior for the client is only to search released addons. This is done for general stability reasons.
However.... If you wish to be able to see the LibStatlogic addon and get access to Alpha/Beta versions from the client, then please go into the Manage Games setup for your wow configuration. There is droplist "Release Preference" that you can set to Alpha(or beta) which will allow updates to alpha versions. You will likely also want to check "Reset all addons to this preference" as well. I don't know about your library preferences, as an author you may wish them installed separately.
Does that answer your question or help?

No, that doesn't help. As I already stated in my second post in this thread, my preference is already set to Alpha. Curse Client is listing LibStatLogic-1.1 AND it is showing that there is an update available. The problem comes when I tell it to download that update: Curse Client simply says "Download Failed".

I have the same problem
LibStatLogic-1.1 Installed:r57 (Released: 2009/06/30) Latest: r59 (Released: 2009/07/13)
LibTipHooker-1.1 Installed:r3 (Released: 2009/04/14) Latest: r5 (Released: 2009/07/08)
Both fail to download for ~1 week.

Hunterz,
I've reported this issue to the site administrators as it is on the server end (the list provided to the client)

Thanks. I did hear from Kaelten that CCv4 will not suffer from this issue.

That is correct, the v4 clients for both mac and pc use an entirely different feed from the servers for the addon list.
